How could the remaining Corps Political Department make a report? Isn't that a big joke! ”
In April 1980, severe scolding came from the ** ward of the General Hospital of the People's Liberation Army in Beijing. Tan Zheng, who was hospitalized here to recuperate, pointed to the documents sent by the relevant departments and said angrily to his secretary. The secretary was a little helpless about this, so he could only comfort Tan Zheng, saying that something might have gone wrong.
This document is a report made by Tan Zheng at the ** meeting of the Northwest Bureau 36 years ago. This is another important historical document in military and political work after the Gutian Conference.
In 1942, ** issued a call to launch a party-wide rectification campaign. All units of the Yan'an Left-behind Corps also actively responded to the call and carried out rectification research.
At that time, although the left-behind corps had achieved tremendous successes, due to the relatively peaceful environment in the rear, the ideological work of the corps leadership was somewhat lax, and the signs of warlordism were prone to appear in the troops.
As a result, Tan Zheng made a mobilization report at the meeting of military and political cadres of the left-behind corps, and bluntly criticized the left-behind corps. After the meeting, all units of the left-behind regiment carried out serious rectification activities. In just one year, all units have glowed with a new atmosphere to varying degrees.
Tan Zheng's report was written on the basis of this year's military reorganization. After sending it to ** for review, ** personally revised it twice, but the basic content and structure of the original manuscript did not change. It can be seen that ** appreciates and recognizes the experience summarized by Tan Zheng.
As a result, in 1960, Tan Zheng was slandered, and the report said that it was not written by him, but rewritten, and the signature of the report was changed to "Political Department of the Left-behind Corps", completely erasing Tan Zheng's name in the report.
It was not until May 1978 that the author of this report was Tan Zheng at the military political work conference, and affirmed the status of this report in the history of the army. Subsequently, ** issued a notice to restore Tan Zheng's reputation and affirm Tan Zheng's important contribution to the revolutionary work.
But what Tan Zheng didn't expect was that the signature of this important report in the history of the revolution was not corrected after he was restored. This sudden blow once again caused serious damage to Tan Zheng's newly recovered body and mind.
A few days later, the guard who took care of Tan Zheng was about to wipe his face, but there was no response after several calls. The evil policemen realized that something was wrong with Tan Zheng and quickly notified the doctor and **. After rescue, although Tan Zheng regained consciousness, his left side of his body was no longer able to move, which affected his speech.
Doctors diagnosed Tan Zheng with hemiplegia caused by cerebral thrombosis. Since then, Tan Zheng has never left the hospital bed.
One day, the secretary came to the hospital bed with a book, pointed to the name of "Tan Zheng" on the book, and told Tan Zheng that the signature of the report had been corrected. Tan Zheng understood, a rare smile appeared on his face, his lips moved, and he said a few words with difficulty:
Be realistic. ”
Seeking truth from facts is the principle that Tan Zheng adheres to all his life, and even in his old age, he will not relax his requirements for himself.
In 1979, when Tan Zheng was recuperating in Guangzhou, he wanted to go to Shenzhen for a field trip to see the great achievements of reform and opening up. As a result, just when the preparatory work was basically completed, a number of regulations on the living conditions and treatment of senior cadres were promulgated. When Tan Zheng learned about it, he immediately asked his secretary to cancel his plan to go to Shenzhen.
It turned out that several old comrades-in-arms who originally planned to go with Tan Zheng persuaded him to change his mind after hearing that Tan Zheng had canceled his plan to go to Shenzhen. Unexpectedly, Tan Zheng patiently persuaded them that as old comrades, they should conscientiously abide by the instructions of **. Stipulate, set an example, take the lead, and do not engage in special.
You deserve to be the director of the political department of the boss. After hearing this, several veteran comrades praised one after another. Under the leadership of Tan Zheng, the comrades around him consciously abided by discipline and regulations, and there was never a problem of violating discipline.
Subsequently, Tan Zheng returned to his hometown in Hunan and witnessed the development of his hometown. Before leaving, he asked the local ** not to inform his relatives, so that they would not use their own names to make trouble for ** in the future. When he left his hometown, the people of his hometown gave him some souvenirs. Tan Zheng thought that it would be more time-consuming and laborious to return it, so he asked the secretary to pay for it, and emphasized that it would not be like this again in the future.
After the secretary finished his work, he reported to Tan Zheng. Tan Zheng asked how much he paid, and the secretary said 15 yuan, which was probably about the same. After hearing this, Tan Zheng said seriously, this is almost impossible. It is a party discipline not to accept gifts casually, and it must be strictly observed. He demanded that the secretary pay another $15 and apologize on his behalf.
Tan's pragmatic and self-disciplined revolutionary style left a deep impression on the secretary and his staff.
In June 1986, Tan Zheng, accompanied by his family and secretary, spent his 80th birthday in a hospital bed. On this day, ** sent a birthday congratulatory letter to Tan Zheng. One of them reads:
We will never forget your contribution to the political work of the people's army and to the revolution. ”
