Text Cathy. On March 8, 2018, at the age of 30, I was single and had my first tooth extracted in the hospital, and since then I have embarked on a long journey of orthodontics.

Before that, I never thought I would get my teeth straightened at this age. I remember graduating from junior high school, graduating from high school, and graduating from college, I was pulled by my mother to see a dentist. It's a pity that I didn't have the heart to love beauty at that time, and I was afraid of extracting my teeth, so I ended up with it. During the 5-year period of graduation work, there is no follow-up for reasons such as work, finding a partner, etc.

On New Year's Day 2017, seeing that life has entered the threshold of 30, life events are still not settled, at a loss, and anxious. I knew I needed to find a new purpose. Since you haven't met the right person, make yourself better and give yourself a motivation to move forward.

After that, there was a series of hospital selections, tooth extractions, braces, etc., which made me gain and grow a lot.

The first is the choice of a hospital doctor. Before deciding on orthodontic treatment, I spent a week searching online forums for various orthodontic information, including orthodontic procedures, orthodontic precautions, dental maintenance, etc. What kind of hospital and hospital to choose is the basic premise and key of orthodontics.

I ran to 3 hospitals. I choose a hospital based on 2 points, one is a 3A hospital in the city, and the other is a well-known local private clinic. Eventually, it was the hospital's expert doctors who were in charge of my orthodontic project. Many people will look for a hospital close to home from a financial point of view. Personally, I don't recommend these two. Teeth are a very important part of a person, not only affecting the aesthetics, but also related to oral health. We need to take it seriously. At present, the hospital I chose requires 1 hour by car, and the total cost is 2-30,000 yuan. It takes 2-3 years to get my teeth straightened, and I have 1 follow-up visit a month, which means that I need to go to the hospital 2 or 3 times 10 times, not including the time for tooth extraction and bracket loss, but I think the time and money spent are worth it. Choosing a professional doctor is the most basic premise of orthodontics.

The extraction phase is one of the hardest periods. Not all orthodontics require tooth extraction. In general, the arrangement of teeth is crowded, and buck teeth need to be extracted to allow free space for alignment of teeth. Not only are my teeth misaligned and slightly buckty, but they are bony plus tooth buckteeth. The doctor's opinion is to extract 8 teeth, 4 intact teeth, 4 wisdom teeth. It really takes a lot of courage to pull out a total of 8 teeth. At first, I was holding back, but now that I've come here, I've decided to stay the course.

The initial plan was to complete the extraction in 2 weeks, 2 in a week, and the remaining 2 wisdom teeth were extracted at a later stage (the upper 2 wisdom teeth were extracted last year). Tooth extraction and anesthetic do not feel pain, but imagine the feeling of forceps pulling the teeth, and the gums and teeth are separated, most people do not want to experience a second time.

The first tooth was successfully extracted, and it was basically recovered after a few days of recuperation. The problem lies in the second one. After pulling out, it was a little painful, and the next night after taking the regular anti-inflammatory drugs, the rash began to appear all over the body, extending from the whole body to the back and extending to the neck and thighs. The condition lasted for 2 weeks, during which I went to 3 hospitals, and the doctors' statements were different, and they could not find out**. That month, my whole life was gloomy, I was constantly pessimistic, and I always felt that I couldn't get better. I even began to regret the correction. It is normal and not shameful for people to retreat when they encounter difficulties. What is rare is to rise to the occasion. Thankfully, the rash gradually subsided after 1 month. Because I had already had 1 tooth extracted, I told myself that I must not give up halfway. So after resting, start anew and successfully extract the next few teeth.

Finally, with braces. For ** orthodontics, because the work needs to contact a certain number of people, clear ceramic braces should be worn. But I ended up opting for metal self-locking. On the one hand, considering that doctors are good at metal self-locking, and metal is not easy to grind the mouth. On the other hand, he is not shy about showing his imperfections to others. In the past, I didn't dare to laugh, and it was really ugly to laugh because of the orthodontics, and I began to pay attention to my teeth and accept the imperfections of my teeth. I suddenly found that the fundamental reason for refusing to have my teeth straightened when I was young was that I couldn't accept my imperfections, so I would rather shrink in a safe area and comfort myself as long as I didn't laugh, and I wasn't ugly.

On June 8, 2018, after 3 months, after many twists and turns, I finally put on my braces, looking at myself in the mirror, full of iron and copper teeth, and uglier than before. In addition, I experienced a mouth ulcer one month later, and the wound just touched the braces, and the pain doubled. It felt like a constant sprinkling of salt on a wound that had just healed and then torn. Still, my heart was calm, and I knew that everything was slowly getting better. It's really nice to tell yourself that you're braver than before.

Recalling the first time I walked into the gate of the hospital and revealed my intention to the doctor to have my teeth straightened, the doctor tactfully reminded: "At your age, you are not married, and it is not easy to find a partner with braces." We can't ** the future direction, we can only grasp the current things to do.

I am glad that at this age, I still have the courage to face my imperfections and take action for them, and I am also proud that the matter of getting my teeth straightened has made me more brave and calm.
