Ye Guoqing (1925-August 21, 2022), a native of Tongcheng, Anhui Province, a veteran of the New Fourth Army, and a hero of the Battle of Changjin Lake. He participated in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the War of Liberation and the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, and is known as a "living legend".

Ye Guoqing was awarded a second-class meritorious service in the battlefield to resist US aggression and aid Korea, participated in more than 200 wars in his life, and made great contributions to the country and the people.

Personal Experience:

1925: Born in Tongcheng, Anhui Province.

At the age of 15, he worked as a correspondent for the underground party.

At the age of 19, he joined the New Fourth Army and joined the party in 1945.

During the Anti-Japanese War: Encountered the Japanese army in Dalongshan, Anhui Province, and killed 2 Japanese criminals with bayonets.

During the War of Liberation: Participated in the Huaihai Campaign, the Battle of Crossing the River, etc., and confronted the enemy in the trenches.

War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea: In the Battle of Changjin Lake, he and his comrades-in-arms worked day and night for three months to open the tunnel, and were awarded second-class meritorious service.

After the end of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, he came to Suzhou with the army and served as the secretary of the party branch and director of the Shengze Rice Factory in 1966.

August 21, 2022: Passed away peacefully at Suzhou BOE Hospital at the age of 97.
