Hamas proposes a ceasefire and peace in Gaza sees the light of day

Reuters published an exclusive report on February 7 that Hamas, in response to the ceasefire package proposed last week by mediators in Qatar and Egypt and supported by the United States and Israel, proposed a ceasefire plan to end the war in the Gaza Strip for four and a half months.

The plan envisages a ceasefire in three phases, each lasting 45 days.

The first ceasefire phase: Hamas releases all Israeli female hostages, male hostages under the age of 19, as well as the elderly and sick, in exchange for the release of Palestinian women and children held in Israeli prisons.

Second ceasefire phase: Hamas releases the remaining male hostages.

The third ceasefire phase: the return of the remains of the deceased.

By the end of the third ceasefire phase, Hamas hopes that the two sides will reach an agreement on ending the war. At the same time, it wants Israel to release 1,500 prisoners, a third of whom Hamas wants to pick from the list of Palestinians sentenced to life imprisonment by Israel.

If Hamas can secure such ceasefire conditions for the Palestinian people, it will be the first time in the Middle East. You must know that no region in the Middle East has ever won such a military victory in the struggle to get rid of colonialism after World War II.

The war revealed the problems that existed within the Israeli army, which was technologically, militarily and psychologically superior. The army's salary, training level, and establishment system have failed to keep pace with the times, resulting in the spread of individualism among military personnel and the decline of military cohesion. Although the Israeli military should wake up and reform after the 2006 Lebanese war, the reality is that they remain self-absorbed and superstitious, and have not made significant changes even after their defeat.
