The Infinite Possibilities Squad of the 4th Squadron of the Primary 5 attached to Xuanwai visited the Jiangning Weaving Museum.

At the beginning of the new year, the members of the infinite possibility squad of the 4th Squadron of Nanjing Xuanwai Primary 5 Squadron (Wang Ruohan, Zhang Chenrui, Ju Peige, Zhu Linlong, Ding Zihan, Cai Jialing, Li Yixuan, Yu Zhencheng, Mao Zhang Jingheng) walked into the Jiangning Weaving Museum to explore the history of Jiangning weaving, explore the secrets of Yunjin, feel the historical masterpiece "Dream of Red Mansions", and understand the charm of traditional Chinese culture.
The Jiangning Weaving Museum is a modern museum built on the site of Jiangning weaving in the Qing Dynasty. The building rebuilt the original West Pond, Melia Pavilion, Xuanrui Hall, West Hall and other buildings in the Weaving Department, looking at the north from the south and stacking high, just like a landscape painting in the south of the Yangtze River. The Weaving Museum is a classic work of combining modern architecture and traditional garden architecture, as if a unique bonsai stands on the modern glass curtain wall, and like a precious gem inlaid in the city.
The team members visited Jiangning Weaving, Yunjin Tianyi, Chinese cheongsam, Dream of Red Mansions and other exhibition halls. In the exhibition hall, the team members either carefully observed the exhibits, or stopped to listen to the explanation, or approached to whisper conversations.
In the weaving exhibition hall, the team members learned about the rise and fall of the Cao family in Jiangning weaving for nearly 60 years from the second year of Shunzhi in the Qing Dynasty to the 30th year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty. The team members understood the function of Jiangning weaving and the special status in the Jiangnan region, and explored the profound cultural connotation and historical heritage behind the prosperity.
In the Yunjin Tianyi exhibition hall, the team members appreciated the magnificent and beautiful Yunjin that represents the pinnacle of Chinese brocade craftsmanship. Admire the beauty of Yunjin and the exquisite skills of the craftsmen. In 2009, Nanjing Yunjin brocade weaving technology was included in the "Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity" by UNESCO. The team members also warmly discussed the important impact of the emergence and development of Yunjin on social politics, economy, culture, science and technology, art, literature, and customs.
The team members traveled to the old time of the Chinese cheongsam exhibition hall, admired hundreds of graceful or elegant cheongsams, imagined what kind of joyful life the owner of the cheongsam had, and felt the fashion changes of different eras. Cheongsam is one of the traditional Chinese cultures, and it is still flourishing in today's cultural globalization.
Dream of Red Mansions is the exhibition hall that the team members are most interested in. Here, the team members learned about the growth background of Cao Xueqin, the author of "Dream of Red Mansions". He understood the hot and cold state of the world in the political situation at that time, the rise and fall of the fate of the family, and the human customs of Jinling society, all of which became the material and ideological and cultural basis for his creation of "Dream of Red Mansions". The team members reviewed the essence and classic chapters of "Dream of Red Mansions" in various forms such as "Dream of Red Mansions" in the exhibition hall, and expressed their desire to read "Dream of Red Mansions" again.
Finally, the team members may stroll in the general courtyard of the "Grand View Garden" to feel the artistic conception of "the mountain is half falling outside the green mountains, and the two rivers are divided into Egret Island". Or sit around with full harvest and excitement, share what you see and think, and sigh at the breadth and profundity of traditional Chinese culture.
