Inner Mongolia dug up the tomb of the Kangxi woman, the dragon robe is not rotten, and experts estimate it to be hundreds of millions

Fifty years ago, a farmer in Inner Mongolia accidentally excavated an ancient tomb while working on his farmland. Archaeologists followed, but the tomb robbers were the first to arrive.

Fortunately, the underground palace was heavily guarded, so that the coffin could survive under the noses of tomb robbers. However, when the coffin of the tomb owner was opened, everyone's surprise was palpable.

The woman in the coffin was dressed in a dragon robe, her face had not changed, and she was lifelike. Who is this mysterious woman? When everyone was deeply puzzled by this, someone found an epitaph next to the coffin, and it turned out that the woman sleeping here was the daughter of Emperor Kangxi - Princess Gulun Rongxian.

So, what is so special about this princess? Why was she buried in a dragon robe? And how did her corpse survive for years?

On a sunny afternoon in 1972, a farmer in Chifeng, Inner Mongolia, was toiling in a field. Just as the sun was shining and the distant grassland was being steamed, he noticed a sheep running farther and farther, so he hurried after it.

However, just as he was chasing the sheep, his feet suddenly emptied, and half of his body almost fell to the ground. After he stabilized his figure, he looked down and saw that it was originally due to the collapse caused by the hollow underground, and now a small pit had formed.

The old farmer inadvertently dug a mysterious hole, which is unfathomable. He struggled to clear the weeds and dirt around him, but he dug deeper and deeper until he came across something hard.

He was so frightened that he retreated again and again and quickly called the police. **Immediately rushed to the scene to investigate and cordoned off the scene. A few days later, a group of scholar-like people and various unknown instruments appeared at the entrance of the cave, and the discovery of the ancient tomb shocked the whole country.

Soon, a large number of construction vehicles appeared on the site, digging rectangular holes in the land. The old farmer didn't know he had found the tomb until he saw the news in the newspaper.

While he bragged about his adventures in front of the villagers, the archaeologists were busy in the burial chamber. During the excavation, they found many robber holes and pottery shards, indicating that the tomb had long been targeted by tomb robbers and that it had been successfully stolen.

What the old farmer found was a hole left by a tomb robber. The urgency of the situation and fears of further damage to the tomb led experts to carry out salvage excavations around the clock in hopes of minimizing damage to the tomb and artifacts.

As the archaeological work deepened, we found that the identity of the owner of this tomb was extraordinary. First of all, the cemetery is large-scale, with a hall on the ground and an underground palace underground, and the overall configuration is rectangular.

The east-west width reaches 45 meters, the north-south length is 105 meters, and the total area reaches about 5,000 square meters, which is equivalent to the size of 11 standard basketball courts.

The overall architectural style of the cemetery and the layout of the walls are similar to the existing Qing Dynasty architectural style. For example, in the territory of the town of Keshiketeng Banner, there is a building called Qingning Temple, which is similar in style and layout to this cemetery.

Therefore, experts deduce that this cemetery should be a Qing Dynasty building.

There is a large gate in the middle of the south wall of the cemetery, opposite the north gate, and there was a square stele pavilion at the door. Although the stele pavilion has been destroyed, its former majesty can still be seen.

On both sides of the stele pavilion, there are 3 rooms in the east and west halls neatly arranged, and the overall width reaches 15 meters. The three rooms in the east are the mausoleum room and the cooking room, which are specially for the mausoleum keepers to live. The west 3 rooms are the office for the storage of the sacrifices and the sacrifice of the mausoleum**, in addition to the daily inspection tasks, the shrine ** also needs to deal with the festival-related matters, although they do not live here, but after the sacrifice work can be here for a short rest.

The whole cemetery is square in shape, and the front and rear halls are built along the central axis, and the mausoleum is located behind the main hall. In addition to the west side, the burial chamber is surrounded by 6 small brick chamber tombs, which are topped with a treasure dome and about 2 in diameter5 to 3 meters.

In the cemetery, only a stone pedestal under the stele is left in a stele pavilion, and this legendary turtle that brings longevity and good luck was once one of the dragon's nine children. Although the burial chamber was stolen, valuable fragments of the remains were recovered, confirming the royal specifications of the tomb's owner.

Soon after, a "thump" sound came from behind a hollow wall, breaking the original impression of a solid wall and prompting further exploration.

After much hard work, the brick wall was finally opened, revealing a brand new secret room. Among them, a coffin is quietly placed in it. According to measurements, the length, width, and height of the secret room are 8 meters, 6 meters, and 4 meters respectively, and the walls are carefully built with rectangular stone strips, and the gaps are almost zero.

It turned out that at the beginning of the construction, they had foreseen the possible infestation of tomb robbers, and in order to protect the remains of the tomb owner, this secret room was specially designed. Fortunately, the tomb robbers did not find this place, and thanks to the wisdom of the ancients, those precious cultural relics were preserved.

Everyone carefully opened the coffin, and the shocking scene left everyone stunned.

In the dark coffin, there was not a trace of white bones, only the dreamlike woman sleeping quietly. She is beautiful, ** soft, with a single strand of hair neatly aligned, and her black and shiny hair braids hang down to her waist.

The whole corpse was calm and serene, as if it had been alive. What amazed the experts even more was that the woman's funerary goods were surprisingly rich. Her head wears a red gold phoenix crown, embellished with seven pieces of gold and emerald steps, dressed in a yellow forged pearl dragon robe, and hangs a pearl strung of 108 pearls around her neck, with a lapis lazuli Buddha head falling in the middle, and each ornament is carved with a ruyi cloud composed of opal.

Such a funeral object made it impossible for experts not to be shocked by her identity. The woman seems to have been a nobleman of great stature, and her life was full of opulence and luxury.

However, now she lies quietly in the coffin, as if everything has been blown away by the wind, leaving only this beautiful shell, quietly telling her past.

Beside her, there are two Su embroidered robes neatly arranged, one is an antique Bogu robe, and the other is a colorful butterfly robe, which is delicately embroidered with patterns such as flowers, birds, auspicious clouds, etc.

These funerary goods are priceless and fully reflect the dignity and charm of the tomb owner. People were amazed when they looked at the female corpse, but the most striking thing was the women's pearl dragon robe on her body.

The front and back of this dragon robe and both shoulders are embroidered with gold silk made of gold dragon, and below the golden dragon, the word "longevity" is strung with pearls, the total number of pearls is not less than 100,000, and finally the eight groups of auspicious dragon patterns are formed, and the surrounding is decorated with auspicious clouds and seawater river teeth.

The value of the entire dragon robe is immeasurable. The patterns are gorgeous, the pearls are noble, and most importantly, the clothes are embroidered with an eight-clawed golden dragon, which is only one less claw than the emperor!

Why is this mysterious woman's identity so noble? She was able to be buried in a dragon robe. Experts found two more purple urns on the south and east sides of the coffin, one of which was engraved with the words "King of Doragun, the deputy general of the forehead horse".

If the identity of these two urns is a colt, then this woman must be some royal princess.

In the burial chamber, the answer was quickly found. First, a cypress epitaph was found on the south side of the burial chamber, and despite the erosion, the key text is still clearly visible, which reads: "She is the second daughter of Emperor Shengren of the Great Qing Dynasty......Then, someone found a crystal seal with the inscription "Princess Rongxian's Seal".

The mystery was finally revealed, and it turned out that the person lying in this coffin was Princess Gulun Rongxian, the favorite daughter of Emperor Kangxi. Princess Gulun Rongxian is the third daughter of Emperor Kangxi, but in fact, she is the second princess.

In history, she did not leave her real name, and the title of "Gulun Rongxian" is enough to reflect Emperor Kangxi's deep love for her. After Emperor Taizong Taiji of the Qing Dynasty inherited the throne, he imitated the system of the Ming Dynasty and changed the emperor's daughter from "Gege" to "Princess", and clearly stipulated that the daughter born to the queen was called "Gu** Lord", and the daughter born to the concubine was called "Princess Heshuo", and "Gege" was only used to refer to the daughter of the prince's relatives.

In the harem, she was promoted from an ordinary "Princess Heshuo" to a noble "solid ** master", which was inseparable from the help of her mother, Concubine Rong Ma Jia. Concubine Rong's virtuous virtue makes her stand alone in the harem of deceit, like a clear stream, even in the mud, it is not stained with dust.

This gentleness and appropriateness made Kangxi fall in love with her deeply, and the relationship between the two was like honey and sugar, and even when Kangxi was supposed to go to the imperial concubine's bedroom at night, he would turn his head to Concubine Rong's bedroom because of his thoughts about her.

During her tenure, she gave birth to a total of five sons and one daughter, from Kangxi's ten to sixteen years, five children were born in just seven years, which is enough to see Kangxi's deep love for her.

It's a pity that Concubine Rong's first four children all died, and only the third son of the emperor, Yinzhi and Princess Rongxian, survived and grew up healthy. Therefore, because of his love for the house and Wu, Kangxi is very fond of this daughter.

At the same time, Princess Rongxian has been smart and lively since she was a child, full of respect for Emperor Kangxi who doted on her, and will tell some jokes to make him happy. This kind of cleverness and well-behaved made Kangxi very satisfied.

Because since the establishment of the Qing Dynasty, in order to win over the Mongol forces, it has been actively promoting the Manchu and Han marriages, and even became a national policy. For a long time, relations between the Manchus and the Mongols were very close.

Therefore, Manchu and Han harmony were not uncommon at that time. Therefore, even if Princess Rongxian is favored by the emperor, she will not be able to avoid the fate of marrying her relatives.

In 1697, at the age of 19, Princess Rongxian was named Princess Heshuo, and in June of the same year, under the order of Kangxi, she married Urgon, a heroic general of the Mongolian Bahrain Department.

Urgon was a Mongol nobleman whose ancestor was Genghis Khan, his father was Orqi, and his grandmother was the daughter of the Empress Dowager Xiaozhuang. The two are closely related by blood, and although they are close relatives, they were regarded as a good story of "kissing and kissing" at the time.

Despite this amicable relationship, Princess Yeongxian is undoubtedly luckier than other ill-fated princesses, as her husband treats her as a treasure and her own father actively supports her.

On the day she got married, Kangxi specially sent 240 families of servants to marry, lest his daughter not adapt to life on the grassland.

Princess Rongxian married far away from the grassland, but she was still deeply loved by her husband Urgon and lived happily after marriage. However, due to the marriage, she could not often return to the palace to visit Emperor Kangxi.

In order to express his longing for his daughter, Kangxi visited her four times on the grounds of inspection. In the forty-seventh year, Kangxi fell ill, and Princess Rongxian guarded the bedside day and night despite the long journey.

Kangxi was deeply moved, and in order to commend her character of "sincerity and filial piety", he crowned her as the solid ** master, and gave her a women's pearl dragon robe.

Princess Rongxian is the only one who has been canonized by Kangxi personally, and her marriage with Urgon also reflects Urgon's deep loyalty to the Qing royal family. In the fifty-first year of Kangxi, Urgon fought bravely in the campaign against Tsewang Alabutan, and made great achievements for the Qing army, which was highly appreciated by Kangxi.

However, five years later, Urgon died of illness in the army, and Princess Rongxian also died in the seventh year of Yongzheng. According to the rules of the Qing Dynasty, the princess was honorable, and the concubine could not be buried with the princess.

However, in order to commend Urgon's heroic deeds, Emperor Yongzheng authorized him to be buried with Princess Rongxian, and allowed Princess Rongxian to wear the dragon robe given by Kangxi to be buried, which is also the reason why Princess Rongxian was able to wear a dragon robe to be buried.

In order to commemorate his mother, according to the system of the Qing Dynasty, Linbu built a princess mausoleum in the territory of Bahrain Right Banner, and moved his father's ashes to be buried with his mother. After his death, his children and grandchildren buried their father's ashes with their grandparents.

Therefore, the coffin, forehead and ashes of Rong Xiangu's ** lord were found in the tomb, realizing the scene of a family of three being buried together. So, how did the princess's body stay incorruptible for 240 years?

This became the focus of everyone's attention.

This miraculous phenomenon arose thanks to the unique design of the mausoleum when it was built. The entire coffin is placed in an airtight room, which effectively isolates air and moisture, making it significantly damp-proof.

At the same time, the coffin used to place the remains is made of rare insect-repellent wood, which gives off a unique aroma. In ancient times, it was believed that gold, silver and jade could prevent the body from decomposing, so a large number of gold, silver and gemstone funerary goods were placed in the coffin, which was not only invaluable, but also could help maintain the body's low temperature and slow down the decay process.

Finally, people will embalm the body and place it in a sterile and low-humidity environment for a long time, so as to realize the long-term preservation of the corpse of Rong Xiangu.

The extraordinary corpse preservation techniques of the ancients give us a glimpse of Princess Rongxian's happy life. Although it is often said that being born in the emperor's family is full of disasters and difficulties, Princess Rongxian has successfully broken this curse and has a happy family and is buried with her family, which is also a different kind of reunion.
