He has been in the car for more than 300 days in the past year

In 2023, Wang Gang is very busy, as the captain of the Xiamen Shuguang rescue team, he is either at the rescue site or on the way to the rescue, and he hardly stops.

Just before the Spring Festival, Wang Gang was still on a search and rescue mission, looking for a man who had committed suicide more than 20 days earlier. When he received the search and rescue mission, Wang Gang was checking his body in the hospital, but the situation was urgent, and he couldn't wait for the results of the examination, so he and his teammates drove more than 2,000 kilometers to the scene, working all night in the cold winter.

At 22 o'clock in the evening, Wang Gang withdrew from the lake to the car, and while sucking instant noodles, he talked to China News Weekly about his past year.

I'm so busy and tired that I can't stop. ”

The following is from Wang Gang's dictation.

More than 300 days a year in the car.

Last year, our Dawning rescue team carried out a total of 12 large-scale disaster rescues at home and abroad, including 7Level 8 ** Rescue Mission, Longyan 57. Extreme weather, 4 village cadres missing search and rescue missions, "Dusuri" typhoon, "chasing the wind rescue", Jishi Mountain**, etc.

This is the year in which I have received the largest number of large-scale disaster rescues in my 15 years of public welfare rescue. At least a week at the scene of each major rescue, plus a variety of large and small requests for help, more than 300 days a year are spent in the car.

In January last year, I came to the rescue in Turkey. **After the incident, the local security fell into chaos, in order to ensure safety, the local prosecutor arranged us to rest in a prison that had transferred prisoners, 24 hours with surveillance and armed guards, but I did not expect that the most dangerous place became the safest place.

While distributing supplies in a village on the Turkish-Syrian border, I met an elderly man who had lost his home, who had built a shack by the rubble with a tarpaulin to rest, and when he learned that we had come from China to help, he grabbed a pigeon from his temporary shelter and gave it to us.

The pigeon was seen as a symbol of peace and beauty, but we couldn't take it on the plane and gave it back to him.

The summer of the "Du Su Rui" chasing the wind rescue operation is too impressive, initially we set off from Xiamen, all the way to Laishui and Zhuozhou in Hebei Province, and then responded to Shandong Dezhou**, and then turned north to Jilin, Heilongjiang to deal with the floods, this route back and forth tens of thousands of kilometers, we spent more than 50 days, is the farthest journey.

I remember that during the rescue in Zhuozhou, the community was in front of the Juma River, and after continuous heavy rainfall, the community became an isolated island. My teammates and I spent a lot of time driving the boat in, and when we were moving with the crowd, the water suddenly rose to seven or eight meters, and the entire hull of the boat was washed away by the water and tilted horizontally, almost capsizing.

It took nearly ten minutes for us to find a relatively gentle river and rush out, and an old man patted me on the shoulder as we got off the boat. At that moment, my high tension suddenly relaxed.

Because of our outstanding performance in disaster relief, the Ministry of Emergency Management of the People's Republic of China sent us a letter of thanks, which is the highest recognition for us.

But it's still a lot of pressure on me, and in the past year, we've advanced relief funds for almost the next three years. For a variety of reasons, there was a significant decrease in social and corporate donations last year, but we did not reduce our spending on equipment procurement and professional training. If these standards are lowered, it means that the team is more dangerous and the rescue response capacity is reduced, which is the last thing I want.

So in the new year, my important task is to find various ways to find funds, resources, and keep the team running.

There are more rescue teams, but I hope they can be more professional.

In fact, the state of our rescue team this year may be similar to the state of many social rescue forces in China, everyone is very busy. The society and ** pay more and more attention to civil rescue, and once an accident occurs, many rescue teams will respond quickly.

There are also more and more civilian rescue teams, and to be honest, I am a little worried.

In recent years, the domestic social rescue team has gradually polarized, with those who work the one hand and braggadocio on the other.

For example, after some disasters occur, the local department has issued a notice that there is no longer a need for civilian rescue forces from other places, but there are still some teams blocking the road, and before people arrive, there is a large wave of reports; Some forces arrived at the scene without rescue tools, and temporarily asked the local community and society for help: we need engines, we need lifeboats, isn't this just troublemaking, how can we rescue without tools?

After doing this for so many years, I gradually feel that the purity and purity of the year are becoming less and less, and some teams use this as a stage to fight for interests and reputation, and even become a fashion.

Perhaps because of the lack of experience and funds, some civilian rescue teams have lower professional requirements for their own personnel, and relatively little professional training and training for team members. That's why I often say that rescue requires zealous and courage, but it also requires professionalism and standards.

Another problem is to establish a good communication mechanism during rescue. It is often the case that "I don't donate what the local people don't want, but I want to donate what I want, and the local people have to accept it."

For example, at the end of a rescue, the social rescue forces are still donating bread and mineral water, but they do not consider the actual needs of the resettlement sites.

Rescue is a real thing, and rescue cannot be performed.

In the new year, I hope to stop.

Last year, our rescuers basically didn't have much rest, carrying out rescue during the day and discussing plans at night, and even needed to rotate if it was a major disaster.

Until now, I have always maintained the habit of wearing headphones when I sleep, for fear that I will not be able to hear the help when I fall asleep**. The rescue team also has 24-hour rescue**, but some units and organizations will contact me directly in case of emergency, as the last line of defense, I never dare to take it lightly.

So I also had some problems with my body. Because of my long-term diet, irregular work and rest, I had a severe stomach ulcer, and even stomach bleeding and heart discomfort. Not long ago, I was taking a lot of medicine almost every day, and I was thinking that I would have a good rest after the mission, but then I received this search and rescue request.

It's been a year of things one thing after another. In addition to running around for most of the time, the remaining dozens of days are also stuffed, I am responsible for the construction and management of the team system, to communicate with emergency rescue departments at all levels, but also to safety training, preaching and holding meetings, I can't stop at all. I sometimes wonder when I can take a break.

After this search and rescue, I plan to catch up on the sleep first, and talk about other things when I wake up. You see, I'm staying by the frozen lake in the middle of winter, and I'm very satisfied to eat a bowl of hot instant noodles.

As for how to spend the Spring Festival next, I don't have any plans, in fact, my concept of holidays is already very weak. We often say that when others celebrate holidays, we pass the customs, because every holiday, large-scale activities are the most intensive, and it is also the time when the probability of accidents is the highest.

For the past three years, on Chinese New Year's Eve, I have either fished people on the reservoir or looked for people in the suburbs, and I didn't have much rest. So this year, I just hope to have a Chinese New Year's Eve dinner in the team, and everyone chats together, which is very satisfying.
