7 things to do after getting an offer

The application for the 2024fall UK master's degree has been carried out more than halfway, I wonder if everyone has got a satisfactory offer?

Here is a list of 7 things you need to do after getting an offer, and it is recommended to collect it! If you don't do it well, it will really delay your enrollment!

1.In exchange for an uncon-offer

Offers issued by UK universities are generally divided into two types: con-offer (conditional offer) and uncon-offer (unconditional offer), mainly for two reasons:

For example, if you want to seamlessly go to a master's degree after graduating from your senior year, then you have to submit your application when you are just in your senior year, and what you can get at this time is a con-offer.

The second is that most majors in British colleges and universities can be applied for first, and then the language scores can be submitted, so if you apply without language, then you will get a con-offer at the beginning.

In the case of getting a con-offer, you need to complete the materials that meet the academic and language requirements of the program within the specified time, and generally the British institution will give a material and deadline that needs to be supplemented on the admission letter, so be sure to pay attention to DDL.

Materials in exchange for uncon-offer:

1) Academic Requirements:Supplement the degree certificate, graduation certificate, final transcript, grade certificate, etc. that meet the conditions.

2) Language conditions:Supplemental IELTS, TOEFL, PTE scores that meet the conditions, etc.

The supplementary documents can generally be uploaded by email, application system, etc., depending on the school's regulations, and you can exchange for an uncon-offer after completing the materials, which means that you have been officially admitted to the school.

If you graduated from a bachelor's degree and applied with qualified language scores, then you can also get it directly in exchange for an uncon-offer, and you don't need to make up for it.

2.Pay a reservation fee

The reservation fee is your confirmation of acceptance of the offer, because the vast majority of applicants will not apply to just one school, so the school needs to use the reservation fee to ensure that you will go to the school, so that the offer will be reserved for you.

If you don't pay the reservation fee, the school will not keep the offer for you (except for some schools and majors that do not have a reservation fee requirement), and if you pay the reservation fee and finally do not go to study for personal reasons, the school will generally not refund this fee to you, so it is recommended that you consider it carefully.

3.In exchange for CAS

CAS is an electronic admission confirmation letter issued by a British institution to international students, which is an electronic admission letter issued by the school to a student after accepting an unconditional admission to a British university and paying a deposit.

CAS does not need students to fill in the system separately to apply, but only needs to confirm whether the information on the CAS sent by the school is correct. After confirming that everything is correct, you will receive an official CAS from the school in about 2-3 weeks.

4.Obtain a certificate of deposit

In order to determine whether international students have sufficient funds to cover tuition fees and living expenses during their study abroad, the UK immigration authorities will require international students to provide proof of deposit when applying for a visa.

Like the money that needs to be saved for the CAS of the main course, it is: the tuition fee of the main course + living expenses - reservation fee, about 30-40w, if it is in the name of your parents, you must issue relevant certificates, that is, to prove that your father is your father, your mother is your mother, if you are over 18 years old, it is recommended to still store it in your own name, which will be more convenient.

The UK deposit requires a deposit period of 28 days, which means that you must deposit at least a month in advance, and prove that you have deposited for more than 28 days when you make an appointment for your visa. For example, if the main class starts on September 1st, then the visa application should be submitted by August 1st at the latest, and the deposit deposit can be deposited around June 1st, and the deposit certificate will be issued for the visa after July 1st.

5.Tuberculosis testing

It is directly related to the visa application, because according to the regulations of the Immigration Department, students who stay in the UK for more than 6 months must have a certificate that they have not been infected with tuberculosis before they can apply for a visa.

6.Apply for a student visa

You can start applying for a student visa as soon as you get an uncon-offer, which is up to one month before the start of the course.

The list of visa documents is as follows:

1) Original valid passport.

2) Original tuberculosis test report.

3) Application form: Application form (under the official website, handwritten signature).

4) 2 color photos with 2-inch white background.

5) CAS number.

6) Language transcripts.

7) Graduation Certificate, Degree Certificate, and Final Transcript.

7.Get accommodation

You can choose to apply for a dormitory at the school, or you can rent an apartment off-campus.

There are three main types of dormitories: standard, en-suite and studio.

1)studio:Separate toilet, separate kitchen.

2)en-suite:Separate bathroom, communal kitchen.

3)standard:Communal toilets, communal kitchens.

If you rent a house off campus, you can find local agents, apartment official websites and various housing apps.

Students who have not yet received an offer, if they need to make up the application, they should hurry up now!
