In Inter's 4-0 win over Lecce, Inzaghi Jr. deployed Carlos Augusto at left centre-back, a position that the Brazilian rarely played but did well to help keep a clean sheet. Inzaghi Jr. proved that Augusto and Dibalco can coexist on the pitch as well.
Last summer, Inter Milan brought in Augusto from Monza for €4.5 million, plus a mandatory buyout clause of 7.5 million. At first, Inter Milan's aim may have been to bring in a substitute for Dimarco to replace the departing Gosens, but Carlos Augusto's performance was surprising and his chances were increasing.
Augusto grew up at left-back before playing as a wing-back at Monza. His fundamentals are very solid and his passes on the left side are very accurate. In more than 100 games for Monza, he played 11 goals and provided 12 assists, showing great attacking ability. At Inter this season, Augusto also has one goal and three assists, which he has only achieved with 13 starts.
Inzaghi Jr. has been unlocking new attributes for Augusto.
