According to public information, Yan Lipin, born on February 7, 1921 in Fengqiu, Henan, began to learn opera at the age of 10 and performed on stage at the age of 11.
As the successor of "Xiangfu Tune" (Henan Eastern Tune), Yan Lipin's singing voice is based on the Xiangfu tune of Henan Opera, which is a collection of hundreds of schools. She is good at playing the role of "Boudoir Dan."", performing tragedy, its representative works are Henan Opera "Qin Xuemei" and "The Legend of the West Chamber". In 1956, Yan Lipin won the first prize in the Henan Provincial Opera Performance and won the China Henan Opera Meritorious Cup Award.
In January 1954, Mr. Mei Lanfang, a master of Peking Opera, accepted Yan Lipin, who performed with the Shangqiu People's Yu Opera Troupe. Mei Lanfang's evaluation of her is: "Yan Lipin has a beautiful timbre, pure singing, beautiful appearance, profound and subtle performance, and is a rare boudoir in local opera."
In 1955, she went to Beijing to participate in the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Mei Lanfang's stage life and met Master Mei. In 1957, Yan Lipin met Master Mei again in Xi'an.
