In 669 BC, the eighth year of King Hui of Zhou, the country went through ups and downs and ushered in great changes in history. That year, Wei Shuo, the king at the pinnacle of the glory of the country, finally put down his heavy scepter and passed away. Under his leadership, Wei Guo spent thirty-one years smoothly. Subsequently, his son Wei Chi succeeded to the throne as Wei Yigong.
Wei Yigong, named Chi, was born in Weidu Chaoge, and is the tenth grandson of Uncle Wei Kang. His life is full of legends, especially his obsession with cranes, which has become a scandal for the ages. He not only raised cranes in the court, but also endowed these cranes with official positions and fortunes, which was jaw-dropping. Whether he is out to play or fight on the battlefield, he is always accompanied by cranes and is known as the "crane general".
However, the crane general gradually indulged in crane raising and forgot his responsibilities as a monarch. He abandoned the government and ignored the suffering of the people, causing the people's resentment to boil and the country to weaken day by day. Finally, in the winter of 660 BC, the Di people in the north attacked the Wei Kingdom from Yiyi in Xingguo. Wei Yigong sent troops to resist, and the minister said: "Jun is a good crane, and the crane can order Zhai." Wei Yigong "received armor" from the people, and the people said: "Call the cranes to resist the enemy, they are ** Houlu, we can fight there!" Wei Yigong had no choice but to take a few cronies to Xingze to meet the enemy, but he was defeated and killed.
The historians Hua Longhua and Likong fled back to Chaoge and reported the bad news to the countrymen. At the critical juncture when the country was broken, Shen, the son of the country, led the guards to flee to the southeast overnight. However, the Di people were in hot pursuit. Fortunately, the guards crossed the Yellow River in time and received assistance from Song Huan. After that, Gongzi Shen was established as the Duke of Wei Dai and built a hermitage in Caodi for temporary residence.
However, the fate was unlucky, and the defender Dai Gong died of illness a year ago. At this time, Gongzi, who fled to the State of Qi, returned from destruction and was made Duke Wen. At the same time, Wei Yigong's sister, Mrs. Xu Mu, rushed from Xu Guo to help. She ran around and finally persuaded Qi Huangong. The Duke of Qi Huan sent Gongzi to lead his troops to help defeat the Di people without loss. In the end, a new Weidu was built in Chuqiu, and the country was revived.
