During the agrarian revolution, many young children decided to join the Red Army and embarked on a revolutionary journey. Some of the children were even twelve or thirteen years old before joining the Red Army and were called "red imps." Despite their young age, they usually take on simple tasks such as guarding, but these "red imps" show extraordinary combat effectiveness, and some even become generals.
For example, the "red ghost" we want to introduce is named Zheng Weishan, who joined the Red Army at the age of 15 and participated in the Agrarian Revolution, the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation, and witnessed the birth of New China. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Zheng Weishan served as the commander of the Grand Military Region and was the leader of the Zhengda Military Region of our army. So, what is the story of Zheng Weishan?Born in 1915, Zheng Weishan joined the Children's League and the Young Pioneers in his hometown as a teenager and began revolutionary activities.
In the process of participating in revolutionary activities, Zheng Weishan strengthened his determination to follow our party in the revolution. In 1930, Zheng Weishan, who was only 15 years old, joined the Red Army and became a "red imp". After joining the Red Army, Zheng Weishan was incorporated into the Red First Army, which was the predecessor of the Red Fourth Army in the Hubei-Henan-Anhui base area and the main force of the Red Fourth Front Army. In the Red Army, Zheng Weishan performed bravely, participated in the anti-"encirclement and suppression" battle in the Hubei-Henan-Anhui base area, and became a famous young general of the Red Fourth Front Army.
After the defeat of the Red Fourth Front Army in the Hubei-Henan-Anhui base area, Zheng Weishan followed the troops to the Sichuan-Shaanxi region, founded the Sichuan-Shaanxi base area, and joined the anti-"three-way siege" in the Sichuan-Shaanxi base area. In 1935, Zheng Weishan embarked on the Long March with the Red Fourth Front Army, crossed the snow-capped mountains three times, crossed the grassland three times, completed the arduous Long March with tenacious will, and finally won the victory.
After arriving in northern Shaanxi, Zheng Weishan quickly joined the Western Route Army, crossed the Yellow River with Chen Changhao and ***, and plunged into the battles in Gansu and Ningxia. However, due to the underestimation of the enemy's situation, the Western Route Army was finally defeated, and Zheng Weishan struggled to survive and returned to Yan'an after many difficulties. After returning to Yan'an, Zheng Weishan actively participated in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation, witnessing the birth of New China. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Zheng Weishan was promoted to lieutenant general in 1955 and became the founding lieutenant general of our country.
In 1967, our country entered a special decade. In that year, Yang Yong, who had served as commander of the Beijing Military Region, was dismissed, and Zheng Weishan, who was only 52 years old, succeeded him as the new commander of the Beijing Military Region. The Beijing Military Region is one of the important regions of our first team, and Zheng Weishan held the highest post in the military region at a young age.
However, after the North China Conference in 1971, the Beijing Military Region was reorganized, and Zheng Weishan was removed from his post as commander, as was his political commissar Li Xuefeng. Compared with Li Xuefeng, Zheng Weishan's punishment was relatively light, and despite losing his position, he was able to retain his party membershipAnd Li Xuefeng not only lost his job, but was also expelled from the party.
Zheng Weishan was then transferred to a farm in Anhui Province for labor reform, and went through a difficult time, but fortunately, his optimistic nature helped him get through that time. It was not until 1979 that Zheng Weishan was finally rehabilitated and returned to the post of commander of the Lanzhou Military Region, making important contributions to the development and growth of our ** team during the period of reform and opening up. However, in 2000, Zheng Weishan died of illness at the age of 85.
Li Xuefeng, political commissar of the Beijing Military Region, who was dismissed along with Zheng Weishan, was later rehabilitated, reinstated as a member of the party member, and was elected as a member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and a member of the first advisory committee, and continued to use his rich experience to guide the construction and development of the motherland during the period of reform and opening up. In 2003, Li Xuefeng died of illness at the age of 96.
