There is an update on the refusal of a dog owner in Dali, Yunnan Province, to compensate a boy who was bitten. On January 30, Ms. Deng, the mother of the bitten boy, told the Beijing News that Mr. Fan, the owner of the dog, had issued a written apology letter on the 29th. A staff member of the Manjiang sub-district office where the incident occurred said that the two parties have now reconciled.
Mr. Fan wrote in his apology letter that on January 21, while walking his dog home, the dog accidentally bit Ms. Deng's son downstairs in the community, causing the boy to be injured.
