In 1926, Li Dazhang returned to China and joined the troops of Song Zheyuan of the Northwest Army and actively participated in the military movement work. With the defeat of the Great Revolution, Li Dazhang left the Northwest Army, and after that, he traveled to Shandong, Hebei, Tianjin and other places, active in the north, engaged in underground work.

At that time, Comrade Shaoqi was the person in charge of the Northern Bureau. At the beginning of 1938, Li Dazhang became Comrade Shaoqi's secretary and assisted Comrade Shaoqi in commanding the Northern Bureau's anti-Japanese war.

Subsequently, he served as the head of the Propaganda Department of the Northern Bureau, made a lot of contributions to the consolidation of the anti-Japanese national united front, and effectively promoted the victory of the War of Resistance against Japan.

Li Dazhang, a great revolutionary, devoted himself to the Northeast during the War of Liberation, made great efforts to suppress bandits and build the party and government, promoted the liberation of the Northeast, and also made important contributions to the liberation of the whole country.

After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he returned to his hometown and became the secretary of the South Sichuan District Party Committee, continuing to serve the people. In 1955, he was elected governor of Sichuan Province, and has been working in Sichuan since then, serving as the secretary of the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee, the deputy director of the Sichuan Provincial Revolutionary Committee, and the secretary of the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee.

It is worth mentioning that in 1964, he also served as the first secretary of the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee (** contributed his own strength to the local construction. During his tenure as Secretary of the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee, he was fortunate to witness Mr. Peng's ashes being brought to Sichuan, which was undoubtedly a profound and touching experience for him.

In December 1974, Mr. Peng's ashes were assumed by the pseudonym Wang Chuan and escorted to Chengdu by two soldiers. They went straight to the compound of the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and asked to see Liu Xingyuan and Li Dazhang.

Subsequently, the two soldiers handed over Mr. Peng's ashes to the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and stressed that the matter must be kept strictly confidential. Li Dazhang was specifically responsible for this matter and placed Mr. Peng's ashes in a crematorium in the eastern suburbs of Chengdu.

In 1975, Li Dazhang was transferred to Beijing and served as the head of the ** department. During this period, he revealed the news of Mr. Peng's ashes to his wife Sun Ming. Sun Ming and Pu Anxiu are classmates, she often goes to chat with Pu Anxiu, but in the chat, Sun Ming told Pu Anxiu the news, so Pu Anxiu knows exactly the whereabouts of Mr. Peng's ashes.
