As soon as they walked hundreds of steps, they heard someone shouting behind them, Fa Xian and Dao looked back, only to see two monks walking briskly to catch up, it turned out that the abbot asked them to carry things to lead the way.

They first went southeast, then turned southwest. On the way, Fa Xian and Dao Cheng learned that an older one was called Qiu He, and a younger one was called Qiu He.

Walking out of the five-mile road, I begged forgiveness to point to the grass on the side of the mountain path and said, "Two mages, there is a red stone here that is worth seeing. ”

Fa Xian looked into the depths of the grass and could faintly see a large stone slab, which was red.

He said, "There was a bhikshu who practiced meditation here, and he practiced his body and mind intensively, but after many years, he still could not attain the right results. One day, he sighed that he had a lot of troubles, so he hated himself, and took up the knife and wanted to kill it for nothing, but when he remembered that the Buddha had made a precept that no one should commit suicide, he put down the knife again. ”

After thinking about it again, it was not himself who he killed, but the three poisonous thieves, the stinky skin where greed, poison and obsessiveness were hiding, so he picked up the knife and killed himself. At the beginning, the blade cut his neck, and he endured the pain, reaching the Sudra Fruit, and entering the Dharma stream of the Holy Path. cut the neck and cut it in half, and you get the fruit of Anaham; As soon as the neck is cut, one attains the arhat fruit, the ultimate fruit of breaking all confusion and entering nirvana forever. ”

Fa Xian knew that these fruits were the three fruits of the four "sacred fruits" of the Buddhist shravakayana. Reaching the Three Fruits with One Stroke of the Sword and entering Nirvana shows that his noble virtues have finally been practiced in an instant. The red on the slate must have been stained with the blood of this monk.

Later, when he met Shakyamuni Buddha and heard the Dharma, he regretted that he had believed in the foreign way and gave them a large bamboo garden to live in. So he drove away the outer ways and built a monastery for the Buddha, which was called the Kalanda Bamboo Garden.

Walking through a deserted cemetery and walking 300 steps west along the Nanshan Mountain, there is a stone house, which is said to be the place where the Buddha often came to sit in meditation.

A few miles to the west, in the North Mountain Yin, there is a large stone house, called the Seven Leaves Cave, which is the place where the first assembly is famous in the history of Buddhism.

Ananda was troubled, so he left the stone house and came to an empty and silent place. He sat cross-legged, and after a long time, his mind was still disturbed by all kinds of troubles and distractions. He simply threw off all desires, including the meeting, and he did not even take off his clothes, but fell asleep.

Unexpectedly, before his head fell, he suddenly felt a bright heart in his heart, and all kinds of troubles and distractions disappeared in an instant.

So he came to the stone house again and knocked on the door to report that Ananda had arrived.

Mahakāṇa said, "If you have cut off your troubles, then you should have supernatural powers." Please come in through the crack in the door yourself. ”

Ananda did as he was told, and entered the house. In this way, the number of five hundred arhats is made, so the first assembly is also called the five hundred assembly.
