Can I look at myself objectively?
There is nothing more difficult in the world than to look at yourself objectively. If a person can know himself calmly and thoroughly, then he is a great person in himself.
The general manager of an enterprise said that his business goal is to achieve the happiness of employees, and the philosophy of life is that only when employees are happy, they will be happy, and the company can go further. Well said! This goal seems flawless, and he strives to achieve it: the employees of the company, regardless of rank or age, often eat and chat together; The company also held a number of happiness-related theme activities within a year; implementation of flexible working hours; A bulletin board is set up within the company to encourage employees to submit their opinions. However, everyone was not happy. So, the general manager asked, "What should I do to make everyone happy?" What can I do for you? The staff remained silent and no one answered. As a result, the more the general manager emphasizes happiness, the more indifferent the employees become, and instead feel that the general manager is helping without asking. Why is this so?
Because happiness is not something that others can give, but something to find for yourself. The general manager always said that he had to give employees what he couldn't possibly give, which seemed very embarrassing to the employees. And he always insists on his own opinions, although he says that he will listen carefully to let the employees express their opinions, but when the employees express their ideas, he unconsciously picks up the microphone alone and refutes the opinions of the employees one by one. He once held a meeting with employees to discuss "what to do to make everyone happy", but the atmosphere of the meeting was awkward. Meeting for happiness doesn't bring happiness at all. Of course, the general manager is by no means a strange person, his intentions are good, but he can't see the real self in the eyes of the employees. This shows how difficult it is to have self-knowledge.
There was once news that a rich second-generation bullied a private driver. According to reports, this rich second-generation not only shouted "don't care about the traffic lights, I'll let you go, you can go" and "don't ask anything", and even formulated a behavior manual to make it difficult for drivers. I couldn't help but ponder: How can a man do this? The behavior of the rich second generation seems to have caused everyone to dislike South Korea's chaebol even more. Whenever I read this kind of news, I have a lot of questions: How did people become like that? Didn't his parents or the elders around him teach him? How can such a person become the chairman? How do employees feel when they work under that kind of person? What does the future hold for the company of which he is chairman? At the same time, I was also very curious about the mind of that kind of person: how does he see himself? Wouldn't he think he's pretty good and a good leader? What is he afraid of? What kind of person is he in front of his spouse and children? Would he do the same to the powerful? Can I change that kind of person? What do we need to do about it? ......
However, one thing is certain, that kind of person who doesn't think he's bad and may feel like he's just unlucky for something to happen. If he really felt that he had a problem, he wouldn't have done it.
It's hard for everyone to know themselves objectively, so if you can fully understand who you are, you will be better. From this point of view, it is very important to have a correct understanding of yourself.
