British Sky News Channel **14** said that the passenger plane flew from Amsterdam, the Netherlands to Detroit in the United States on the 13th. About 1 hour after takeoff, a passenger complained to the flight attendant that "some maggots fell on her head".

A witness wrote on social ** that he heard a complaint from a passenger in the back seat, "I turned my head and saw a lot of maggots wriggling in the seat......It's disgusting."

The crew investigated and found that the maggots had come from a rotting fish in a piece of carry-on luggage. According to one passenger, she smelled "a foul smell" at the time.

The plane then returned to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.

Delta Air Lines later confirmed the matter. "We apologize to our passengers for the disruption of this flight due to inappropriate items in their carry-on baggage. "The plane returned to the gate and the passengers were scheduled for the next flight." The aircraft is out of service and needs to be dewormed. (Yang Shuyi).
