In the middle of the night on January 6, 1972, Marshal ** died of rectal cancer. The news quickly reached ***'s ears and made him deeply saddened. Although *** was ready for the death of the marshal, the suddenness of the news still made him unable to hide the grief in his heart for a long time.

At the memorial service on January 10, ** was not in good health and ** decided that he would not attend. However, when the memorial service was about to begin, ** still insisted on going, although his body was weak, but the grief in his heart and his admiration for **Marshal made him irresistible.

**In person** at the memorial service, carefully examine each bouquet of wreaths and couplets. Before an elegy, he paused to inquire and praise the author's talent. After learning that the other party is unemployed, **immediately instructed*** to make arrangements.

Soon after, the author of the elegiac couplet became a member of the ** Museum of Culture and History, and the elegiac couplet also changed his life. So, why did *** decide to attend **'s memorial service?

And who is this talented elegiac author? The friendship between Mao and Chen began in 1928, when they met in Jinggangshan.

*The impression of *** is that he has learned people, has depth of conversation, and has great ambitions. And the evaluation of *** is outspoken, talented, and impartial.

Their acquaintance and friendship were gradually deepened in the course of the common revolutionary struggle. Although in the early stage, ** did not fully realize the important role of *** in revolutionary practice, but after the Seventh National Congress of the Red Fourth Army and the Ninth National Congress of the Red Fourth Army, ** realized the correctness of ***.

With the continuous expansion of the revolutionary base areas, different views and opinions also appeared within the Red Fourth Army, which affected the unity of the Red Army. In order to solve this problem, in June 1929, the Red Fourth Army held a meeting in Longyan, the main topic of which was to solve the problem of building the Red Army, strengthen the party's leadership over the Red Army, and improve the political quality of the troops.

At this meeting, he made a long report in which he expressed his views on the current revolutionary situation, the principle of army building, and overcoming the erroneous ideology within the party. Although most of his views agree with ***'s proposition, there is still a gap in the depth of thought.

* firmly believe that the leadership of ** is correct, and the Red Army cannot do without the guidance of ***.

In 1929, he was reappointed as the secretary of the former party committee at the Gutian Conference, and he worked together with him to maintain the unity of the Red Fourth Army and consolidate his position in the Red Fourth Army.

While supporting ***, **also expressed full trust in **. What best reflects his love for ** is his handling of the "Huanghuatang Incident".

In 1942, when he was handling official business in the Central China Bureau, he chatted with the secretary, and inadvertently revealed the difficulty of the CCP's new regulations on the rectification of the required literature, which attracted Rao Shushi's attention.

Rao Shushi didn't deal with **, and he was very happy when he learned about it, and immediately sent someone to tell **.

In order to squeeze out ** and realize his ambitions, Rao Shushi seized some ** past events and created the "Huanghuatang Incident", which made ** feel justified and inexplicable.

* had to go to Yan'an to find *** judge, but he was not sure about ***'s attitude towards the Huanghuatang incident, so when he saw ***, his attitude seemed a little respectful.

**Dissatisfaction with **'s attitude** and tantrums, but ** did not feel unhappy because of it, but was more moved by it. **Not only did he not blindly accuse**, but he did a lot of ideological work for him.

In my dealings with ***, I gradually became aware of my own shortcomings and understood the importance of patience and the concept of the big picture for politicians. Ten years later, **gifted** a proverb: "The road knows the horsepower, and the matter lasts for a long time." ”

In 1954, ** left Shanghai to work in Beijing, **'s apology surprised ** very much. It turned out that ** couldn't pick him up at the train station because he was busy with work.

* Laugh out loud after listening to it, the friendship between the two is deep, and you don't need too many words, you can feel it just in your smile.

*'s diplomatic talent is widely recognized, which is also highly regarded by ***. In order to alleviate the work pressure of ***, after the approval of ***, *** took over the position of *** chief.

In a diary, ** wrote: "Now that I am engaged in diplomacy, looking to the future, I am a little overwhelmed. But this is only a modest remark of **, but ** considers it a merit of **, which makes him more cautious and thorough in dealing with foreign affairs, and more beneficial to his work.

During his long tenure, he has always followed the principle of "friendship first", which coincides with his diplomatic thinking and has also been praised by ***.

On January 6, 1972, ** died of illness, and his departure made *** feel deep grief and loss. At the moment of learning the news, ** seemed to be shocked for a moment, and then fell silent and did not say anything.

Xiao Zhang, what time is it? ”

Grandpa Mao, ** and ** comrades attended the memorial service, Grandpa Mao was desperate, patted the armrest of the sofa and said: "Let's go, we will go to Comrade **'s memorial service now!" ”

This surprised the staff very much, because Grandpa Mao had never participated in this kind of activity, especially Babaoshan, and almost never even went there. The guards and soldiers were completely unprepared, and Grandpa Mao suddenly had to go to the memorial service, which caught them off guard, because the scheduled time was almost up.

The time was too tight, and Grandpa Mao didn't have time to change his clothes, so he got into the car in his pajamas. The car stopped in front of the auditorium of Babaoshan Cemetery, and Grandpa Mao slowly got out of the car with the support of the staff.

Grandpa Mao and *** met in the antechamber of the auditorium, and the two shook hands tightly, but they didn't say anything. **Accompanied Grandpa Mao to the others, and Grandpa Mao also shook hands with Song Qingling, ** and others present one by one.

At this moment, Comrade **'s wife Zhang Qian came. Seeing this, Grandpa Mao owed a debt and wanted to get up from the sofa to greet him. When Zhang Qian saw it, she walked over quickly, choked up and said, "Grandpa Mao, why are you here?" ”

Zhang Qian recalled that *** had participated in the memorial service of the soldier Zhang Side, and rarely attended the memorial service after the founding of the People's Republic of China, let alone Babaoshan. This time, Zhang Qian was deeply moved by dragging her sick body and braving the cold to attend the memorial service.

Seeing Zhang Qian, who was full of tears, sad and choked, ** eyes were also flushed, and she said heavily: "I also come to mourn Comrade **, he is a good comrade and has contributed to the country." ”

He then asked for the children's names, and he gave them an introduction and said many words of encouragement. In the lounge, **emphasized** the contribution to the friendship between the people of China and the world, the contribution to the Chinese revolution and the world revolution, and the meritorious man.

At the end of the conversation, Zhang Qian said with concern: "Chairman, you can sit down for a while and go back." * shook his head and said, "No, I'm going to the memorial service too, give me a black veil." ”

The staff immediately put a black veil on him.

At the memorial service, I saw a couplet written with a bird seal, and said with praise: "This couplet is well written, and it deserves to be the four princes!" ”

However, when he learned that his friend Zhang Boju could not attend the memorial service because he had no job, household registration and housing, he was very puzzled. After pondering for a while, he turned his head to *** and said, "Enlai, you can ask about this matter and solve it as soon as possible!" ”

**Agree immediately and promise to deal with it as soon as possible.

Zhang Boju's couplet has attracted the attention of ***, which is really a rare thing. Next, the memorial service of ** began ......* After the memorial service, Zhang Boju and his couplet also became news and widely circulated among the people.

So, who is this Zhang Boju who can impress *** and make **Marshal and him friends? Zhang Boju, one of the famous "Four Great Princes" in modern China, the other three sons are Yuan Shikai's second son Yuan Kewen, the young marshal Zhang Xueliang and the owner of the Red Bean Pavilion Pu Dong.

Zhang Boju's father, Zhang Zhenfang, was an official in the same dynasty as Yuan Shikai in his early years, and was a cousin with Yuan Shikai, and served in important positions such as the Ministry of Household Affairs and the Salt Bureau. During Yuan Shikai's tenure as the chief **, Zhang Zhenfang served as the governor of Henan.

Born in such a prominent family, Zhang Boju studied in Tianjin with several sons of Yuan Shikai, and later inherited his father's business, entered the army model regiment to study, and also held important positions in the army after graduation.

However, after Yuan Shikai's death, the warlords fought, and Zhang Boju's life became increasingly difficult.

Since 1926, Zhang Boju's enthusiasm for the collection of ancient celebrities has not diminished. At that time, Pu Yi was driven out of the Forbidden City by Feng Yuxiang, and his life was difficult, so he had no choice but to take out the national treasures he secretly carried and sell them, including 4 pieces of calligraphy and painting mortgaged in Tianjin Salt Bank.

After Zhang Boju learned the news, he acquired these paintings and calligraphy one by one. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, in order to prevent the loss of national treasures overseas, Zhang Boju decisively sold his house to purchase the "Spring Outing" by a painter of the Sui Dynasty.

After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Zhang Boju worked as a teacher in the Chinese department of Nanjing University, and soon after received the Tang Dynasty Du Mu's "Gift Zhang Haohao Poem", which he was so happy that he even put it next to his pillow every night so that he could sleep peacefully.

In 1956, Zhang Boju moved to Beijing, when he was over half a hundred years old. In order to prevent the national treasure from being lost after his death, he decided to give Li Bai's "On the Balcony" in the Tang Dynasty to *** after discussing with his wife, so as to express his love for New China.

** He is a calligraphy lover, especially loves Huaisu's calligraphy, and also has a soft spot for the calligraphy of "Three Lis" - the works of Li Bai, Li He and Li Shangyin. Therefore, when *** received this ink treasure, he was very happy and admired it for several days.

** Thankful for Zhang Boju's kindness, but personally cannot accept such a treasure. But he liked it very much and hoped to borrow him for a few days and store it in the Palace Museum.

Zhang Boju was very moved, and donated the precious calligraphy work "Pingfu Post" that he bought for 40,000 oceans to the country. Later, he also donated the rare famous painting "Spring Tour" to the country.

Zhang Boju served as the vice chairman of the Beijing Peking Opera Art Research Society, responsible for excavating and organizing the traditional repertoire. He also organized a number of performances and personally starred in the excerpt "The Thief of the Scroll".

The Ministry of Culture and the China Drama Association initiated the organization of the performing arts of famous veteran artists to inherit and carry forward the heritage of the motherland's theatrical performing arts.

* The marshal was not only a valiant general, but also a talented poet. In the summer of 1957, ** and Zhang Boju hit it off at first sight and chatted very happily.

* He also briefed Zhang Boju on the situation in the whole country and the party's principles and policies, hoping that he could see further. **Said to Zhang Boju: "Mr. Zhang must keep moving forward, and he must be loyal to ***."

In the autumn of 1961, Zhang Boju was transferred to Jilin to work as the deputy director of the Changchun Museum. Just as he was packing his luggage, a car stopped in front of his house, and it turned out that ** sent a special car to invite him to Zhongnanhai.

Zhang Boju felt lonely in the predicament, but what he didn't expect was that the ** marshal still regarded him as a friend, which made him feel very warm. Zhang Boju came to Zhongnanhai by car and was soon taken home by **.

* Quickly stepped forward to greet him, the two shook hands tightly, and then drank tea and talked heart-to-heart. **Asked with concern how Zhang Boju was doing, if he had any new poems and paintings of his wife.

* Said to Zhang Boju: "If you encounter any difficulties, don't hesitate, feel free to tell me, and I will do my best to help you." Zhang Boju looked at **, and stopped talking, ** seemed to guess his thoughts, so he asked him if he was still about that matter.

Zhang Boju said heavily: "This incident surprised me a little, but I think it is also good to get some education, although I am not so detached and indifferent. ”

* Deeply moved, he said: "On behalf of the Party, I thank you for your understanding, and it is very commendable that you have dedicated all the precious cultural relics you have treasured throughout your life to the country." ”

Zhang Boju was so moved that he choked up when he heard the affirmation of **, and he said, "Thank you, Mr. Chen." * Then asked, "Mr. Zhang, do you have any other plans to go to Northeast China?" ”

Zhang Boju thought for a while, and then said: "I can teach some poetry, ancient methods, and calligraphy and painting appraisal, and I can do a lot of work." * Relieved, he smiled and said, "That's your strength!" ”

At the time of parting, ** and Zhang Qian personally sent Zhang Boju to the door, and the two cherished each other and said goodbye.

Zhang Boju's life in the countryside was very hard, but when he was desperate, he received the news of his death. The news made him grief-stricken, and he wrote an elegiac couplet in this situation to commemorate the life and exploits of **.

Zhang Boju's admiration for ** is beyond words, ** is a person who admires Zhang Boju very much, he has asked Zhang Boju for advice many times, and the friendship between the two can also be seen.

*During his serious illness, he still cared about Zhang Boju and his wife, put their paintings next to his pillow**, and asked about the situation, and specially asked *** Prime Minister to help take care of them.

When Zhang Boju came to visit the hospital again in 1971, both of them were full of emotion, from poetry to drama, from calligraphy to cultural relics. In the end, ** asked Zhang Qian to take out the marble Go she had collected for many years as a souvenir, and said: "I am very sick and it is impossible to play Go again in the future, so I will give you this set of Go." ”

Zhang Boju deserves to be one of the four princes, and he writes very good couplets. Zhang Qian told *** that Zhang Boju is now in Beijing, has neither a job nor a hukou, and his life is very difficult.

**Immediately instructed*** to arrange work for Zhang Boju, and ten days later, Zhang Boju became a member of the **Culture and History Museum, and a pair of couplets also changed the trajectory of his life.
