Idle talk about mistakes has passed again and again, life has passed, and life has no faults

"Everything in the world is inevitably wrong. This is the "Les Miserables" in the eyes of the great French writer Hugo.

Take the wrong path, recognize the wrong person, do the wrong thing, and make frequent mistakes. Missing the truth, missing the good, missing the beauty, and making mistakes. When it was over, he was able to be coaxed to pass the test with just one sentence of "who is not a sage or sage", but he did not know that this was the biggest fault of all the mistakes.

It is true that it is impossible for a person not to make mistakes in his life, this is the "known" condition and logical axiom of all living beings. However, this "known" and axiom must lead to the conclusion of "making mistakes"? Conversely, after making a mistake, you can use a so-called conclusion that "mistakes are unavoidable" to exonerate yourself from punishment?

You might as well make a story deduction-

A child comes home from school and nervously "takes" back his classmate's clipboard. Of course, children know that they shouldn't "take" other people's things, but they can't be sure what it means to "take" them like this.

At this time, the child's mother has three choices: one is to resolutely let the child go back and apologize, the second is to treat him indifferently and let him not make an example, and the third is to praise the child for being smart and capable.

When making the first choice, both mother and child will face the pressure of self-esteem and public evaluation, and the child is likely to remember the precept that other people's things cannot be "taken" casually, and when he grows up, he will find that "taking" is actually the beginning of "stealing". Although I dare not say that this child will definitely follow the right path recognized by the public when he grows up, it is a high probability that this child will not embark on the road of stealing.

Let's look at the second option, the mother didn't let the child return other people's things, but just let him not make an example. This not only saves the mother's face, but also takes into account the child's self-esteem, and warns the child not to commit it again. But in fact, children who have tasted the sweetness of "taking" other people's things but have not been punished may have one possibility to secretly "take" other people's things again without telling their mothers, and the other possibility is that they are really taken by their mother's warning of "not taking people's things as an example" and will no longer "take" people's things. The probability of both "possibilities" is very high, and the final "possibility" depends on the comprehensive education later. It's just that this is a bit of a gamble.

Looking at the third option, instead of taking warnings and punishments, the mother praises the child for being smart and capable. In the story of "The Thief and His Mother", Isolt wrote: One day, the child came home from school, bowed his head and said to his mother, "Mom, I saw that my classmate's clipboard was beautiful, so I secretly took it back ......."Unexpectedly, the mother interrupted him with a smile and said, "My child, you are so capable, and now you have a beautiful writing board." After a week, the boy brought back another coat, and he said to his mother, "I brought it back when they were drying their clothes outside." The mother said happily, "Good boy, bring a few more pieces back next time." As the days passed, the child grew up, and he became a habitual thief and a thief, and later went and stole the treasures of the bank vaults. After the thieves were caught, they were sentenced to death. When he was escorted to the execution ground, his mother followed him and wept bitterly. The executioner asked the thief: "You are dying, do you have any more demand?" The thief said, "I want to whisper a few words to my mother." Mom hurried forward and leaned her ear to it. The son bit off her ear and said fiercely: "When I stole the clipboard, if you beat me up and ask me to correct it, will I continue to steal it?" Will I end up where I am today? ”

The ending of the third choice is embarrassing.

It is impossible for people not to make mistakes, and small mistakes are often allowed to pass small because they are small, and the result is that mistakes are made again and again, and big mistakes are made.

As animal experts say, a tiger that has not eaten a human will not eat a human under normal circumstances, as long as the person does not offend it, or the tiger does not feel offended. But once the tiger has eaten a person, it will also eat people, and they will eat people when they see them.

The same is true for people, everyone has a tiger of desire in their hearts, before it is contaminated, it is safe, but once it is stained, it is also "eaten", this tiger of desire will be greedy, often "escaped" out, harming others and themselves.

That's why people make mistakes. From a subjective point of view, the lack of cognitive ability, insufficient knowledge level, and insufficient work experience will certainly lead to making mistakes, but the deviation of world view, outlook on life, values, view of power, status, and interests is the biggest bane of making mistakes or making big mistakes. From the perspective of the objective world, things and contradictions are too complex and difficult to understand, laws are hidden deep in the surface and difficult to grasp, and there is no experience and laws to follow when facing new things, everything can only move forward in groping and overcome mistakes in the process of progress.

For this reason, the ancient sages promptly revised the earlier saying that "no one can do anything wrong if he is not a sage", and added another sentence at the end: "Knowing mistakes can improve the great way." Even, take a step back and set the bottom line at "no two passes". The implication could not be more obvious, people will inevitably make mistakes, but they must not be repeated.

Not to mention whether the mistakes made can be "passed", can it be done without repeating the same mistakes?

You must know that making mistakes itself is actually a process of practice, a process in which the subjective world adapts to the objective world or transforms the objective world. When subjective perception contravenes objective laws, mistakes will be made, punishments will be made, and even a terrible price will be paid. In the final analysis, when people meet the world, they will inevitably make mistakes; People groping in the world often make mistakes again and again.

How to avoid repeated mistakes has become a "hurdle" that everyone has to pass.

A research team at Goldsmiths College, University of London, UK, has come up with a solution through experiments.

The team invited 36 healthy volunteers to do a "time interval estimation" experiment to see how they responded to the error.

The researchers asked volunteers to estimate 17 seconds interval and show the right or wrong results on the computer screen in front of them, and then see if they can improve based on the feedback?

The results showed that some of the volunteers learned that they had made a mistake and immediately learned the lesson, and their brains quickly responded by 200 milliseconds faster than before, and the accuracy of their judgments also improved. However, after knowing that they had made a mistake in their judgment, the reaction speed of their brains did not improve, and they kept repeating the original mistakes.

Why is there such a discrepancy? Brain wave observations showed that the areas of the brain responsible for monitoring behavioral performance were more active in the brains of volunteers who were good at learning lessons during the time estimation test than those who made repeated mistakes. This suggests that the reason why some people make mistakes repeatedly is that the lack of activity in specific functional areas of the brain is behind them. It turns out that this is not the psychological factor of fear of admitting mistakes or not admitting mistakes analyzed by traditional psychology, nor does it mean that people who are good at correcting mistakes are more modest and cautious, while people who always make mistakes repeatedly are stubborn.

The results of the experiment came out, and it turned out that the reason why people make repeated mistakes is caused by differences in brain structure and function. This seems to give scientific evidence to those who make mistakes repeatedly, even if they don't change them.

Wait, the best is yet to come.

Since everyone has an area in the brain that is responsible for supervising behavior, but some people are not active enough in this area, scientists use "punishment" to activate it.

In the time estimation experiment, the scientist shows a red card to the person who made the estimation error and honks the horn at the same time, so that the volunteers participating in the test will be more alert to the error, strengthen the sensitivity to the error, and thus produce error correction behavior.

For this reason, the Smith College research team concluded that warning or disciplinary action, no matter how big or small, is the best policy.

The question is, it is easy to find faults in the laboratory, and you can also give warnings or punishments clearly, but in the vast world and long life, some mistakes that have not touched the law and have not hurt others, who will find out and who will carry out the warnings or punishments?

Ze extinguishes wood, it's too big. The wood sinks in the water, showing the image of greatness. Such a big transgression is not easy to detect or inspect, let alone a small transgression that flies like a bird? When a person commits a minor offense, sometimes it is difficult for him or her to notice it, and naturally he cannot receive timely and effective warnings or punishments.

In this way, has it become an empty word?

Take smoking, for example, smoking is not a big deal. In the hearts of many smokers, barely is too little. As a result, it is easy to quit stealing and difficult to quit smoking.

Many people quit smoking, out of respect for the doctor's advice or family requirements, in fact, deep down they never think that smoking is a big mistake, and they believe that it is just a small mistake, so people who want to quit smoking have not quit dozens of times, and finally simply quit it, and the second has become n times. No wonder China 3The number of smokers is 500 million, and seven more have been created"No. 1 in the world": No. 1 in tobacco planting area, No. 1 in tobacco leaf purchase, No. 1 in cigarette production, No. 1 in cigarette consumption, No. 1 in the number of smokers, No. 1 in tobacco profits and taxes, and No. 1 in the number of people dying from smoking-related diseases.

Of course, there are a small number of people who are really harmed by tobacco and start to quit smoking. They were shocked to find that they were victims of benzene, tar and various radioactive substances contained in tobacco, and unfortunately suffered from various diseases such as lung cancer, bladder cancer, oral cancer, laryngeal cancer, cardiovascular disease, impotence, infertility and senile dementia. Smoking is no longer a minor offense, but a life-threatening offense. At this time, it is not possible not to change it, but it is too late to force this kind of result to make changes, and it has been done, but it is meaningless. About 1 million people die each year from smoking-related diseases in China, one in five deaths globally, and smoking addiction and psychological anxiety are countless.

There are also a very small number of people who quit smoking to a certain height, they learn the lessons of others, treat the small mistakes of others as their own, tremble, sincerely fear, feel the punishment from the punishment of others, and use the lessons of others to always alert themselves. In this way, 7% of people successfully quit smoking.

If you quit smoking, everything in life will work. Don't repeat the mistakes you have made, don't take chances when you can predict, and avoid making mistakes made by others, this is the wisdom of "no two mistakes".

Ordinary people are like that, and so is the Buddha.

The Buddha's only son, Rajra, followed the Buddha as a monk when he was still young. Before the age of 10, he started his practice, and he was not a childish playful nature, and even often lied and teased others.

As a father, when the Buddha knew about Ra's behavior, he decided to make Rajra deeply understand the fault of lying, so that he could truly correct his behavior.

One day, when he saw that the Buddha had just returned from the city from the dervish, he immediately rejoiced and prepared water for the Buddha to wash his feet.

The Buddha remained silent, and after washing his feet, he poured out the water and left only a little in the basin, and asked Rajra, "Have you seen that?" Then he poured all the rest of the water on the ground and asked, "Do you see that?" ”

Luo Jiluo didn't know why, so he just kept nodding.

I saw the Buddha tilt the basin to one side and ask, "Did you see that?" Finally, let the whole basin fall upside down on the ground, and still ask Luo Jiluo: "Have you seen that?" ”

Luo Tanluo was puzzled and watched his father pour out the water and buckle the basin.

Then the Buddha said:"The Dharma in your heart is like the water in a basin just now, there are only so many of them; Now because of the habit of lying, the good Dharma in your heart is like water spilled out, and there is not even the slightest trace left. You lie and tease people, like a tilted basin, people will no longer trust you and will also despise you. In the end, you will be like an upside-down basin, you will not even be able to contain your own good roots, and you will no longer be able to hold a single drop of Dharma water! "

Luo Shuluo immediately felt extremely ashamed and immediately confessed to the Buddha. At this point, the Buddha smiled and nodded, praising Ra's courage and determination to repent sincerely.

People often do wrong things because of ignorance, or make mistakes again and again because of obsession, and only by truly realizing the harm of the past can we truly avoid the future.

This was achieved by Luo Shuluo with his life's practice, and thus he obtained the holy position of an arhat and won the Buddha**"Secret line first"The good name.

As the saying goes, life has passed and passed; There is no fault in life.
