13 8MOPH PRECIPITATION HARDENED MARTENSITIC STAINLESS STEEL

Mondo Home Updated on 2024-02-01

Quality Author List 13-8mo is a precipitation-hardened martensitic stainless steel manufactured using the VIM-VAR (Vacuum Induction Melting - Vacuum Furnace Remelting) process that provides excellent fracture toughness and transverse mechanical properties while having resistance to stress corrosion cracking and high strength, which are common features of the precipitation-hardened stainless steel family. By selecting different single low-temperature aging treatments, a wide range of mechanical properties can be achieved. This alloy is remelted by double vacuum (vacuum induction melting, followed by vacuum arc remelting) to ensure low gas content, improved uniformity and superior cleanliness. This alloy should be considered in applications that require both stress corrosion resistance and high strength.

13-8mo stainless steel is a high-performance alloy with excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. It is manufactured using the advanced VIM-VAR process, which allows for a wide range of mechanical properties through carefully controlled aging treatments. Double vacuum remelting ensures low gas content, homogeneity and excellent cleanliness of the alloy. In applications that require corrosion resistance, high strength, and resistance to stress corrosion cracking, 13-8mo stainless steel is an excellent choice to consider.
