Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, January 11 (Reporter Gao Lei) The reporter learned from the China Disabled Persons' Federation on January 11 that the General Office of the China Disabled Persons' Federation and the General Office of the Ministry of Education recently jointly issued a notice calling for giving full play to the basic role of special education schools and speeding up the promotion of the use of national sign language and national Braille in special education schools. The notice clarifies that by 2025, the national sign language and national braille will be widely used in special education schools enrolling students with hearing and visual disabilities across the country, and teachers and students will master the national sign language and national braille, and gradually standardize their use in education and teaching activities.

The notice requires that special education schools further strengthen the awareness of the use of national sign language and national braille, adhere to the mutual promotion of promotion and education and teaching work, formulate practical measures, put forward clear requirements, school leaders and class teachers should take the lead in learning, and special education teachers should "prepare sign language and braille" in education and teaching activities, and organize regular assessments.

The circular also requires that all localities widely carry out national sign language and national Braille training, and include them in the "national training plan" and "provincial training plan". The China Disabled Persons' Federation, together with the Ministry of Education and the State Language Commission, is to carry out training for key special education teachers, and the organizations of the Disabled Persons' Federations of all provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the Central Government are to take the lead in carrying out provincial-level training in conjunction with the administrative departments of education, and to guide training at the city and county levels. Special education schools should strengthen in-school training. By 2025, we will strive to achieve full coverage of teacher training in special education schools.
