Wang Guangmei's deathbed wish Hua Ming Building
In the autumn of 2006, in Beijing 305 Hospital, Li Min and Li Ne, the two daughters of the chairman, burst into tears in front of a posthumous portrait. Who is the owner in **?
She is the sixth lady of China's former *** - Wang Guangmei. On October 13, she died of illness at the age of 85.
When Wang Guangmei was dying, her children stayed by her side and asked her with concern if she had any unfulfilled wishes. Weak, she struggled to squeeze out three words: Hua Minglou. So, where is this Huaming Tower sacred?
Why did she miss this place even as she was about to die? On September 26, 1921, Wang Guangmei was born in a scholarly family in Beijing.
Her father, Wang Huaiqing, graduated from Waseda University and served as the director of the Department of Industry and Commerce when Duan Qirui was in charge of Beiyang**. He and Liao Zhongkai, the leader of the Kuomintang and the party representative of the Whampoa Military Academy, were brothers, and the two had a deep friendship when they were in Japan.
Wang Guangmei once recalled that there were photos of her father and Liao Zhongkai's father and son hanging in her house all the year round.
Dong Jieru, Wang Guangmei's mother, graduated from Beiyang Women's Normal School, is a student of Wang Huaiqing, and has a wealthy family. At that time, women in this kind of family had to bind their feet, but Dong Jieru resolutely opposed this bad habit.
She not only asked herself to free her feet, but also encouraged her to study, and became a student of the first phase of the Beiyang Women's Teacher, in the same class as the revolutionary pioneer Liu Qingyang, and Deng Yingchao was also her alumnus.
It is precisely because of such a family background that Wang Guangmei has shown a unique temperament since she was a child. She was gifted in mathematics and science, and graduated from the Graduate School of Science at Fu Jen University in 1945 with a master's degree in science.
At that time, the young Wang Guangmei idolized Marie Curie and dreamed of becoming a great female scientist like her. Later, she successfully received an offer from the University of Michigan in the United States and planned to pursue a PhD.
When she was planning to study in the United States, Wang Guangmei's thinking changed. At this time, the victory of the Anti-Japanese War coincided with the confrontation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, and a civil war was on the verge of breaking out. The United States intervened and tried to mediate the contradictions between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, so it set up a military mediation office in Beijing to serve as the representative of the Chinese Communist Party.
In order to deal with the Americans, the Military Dispatch Office needed an English translator. Cui Yueli, the secretary of Peng Zhen, the mayor of Beijing at the time, recommended Wang Guangmei. Wang Guangmei's mother once helped the underground party of the Communist Party of China, and her fourth brother Wang Guangjie was also a member of the Communist Party, which made her influenced by her family and turned to revolution.
Therefore, under the recommendation of the fourth sister-in-law, she got acquainted with Cui Yueli, who was still an underground party at the time.
After reading Cui Yueli's "On the Cultivation of Communist Party Members," Wang Guangmei deeply felt the arduous task of becoming a party member. But she did not back down because of this, but worked harder to study progressive books and revolutionary theories, and always held herself strictly according to the standards of party members.
In the end, she strengthened her revolutionary determination, refused the invitation to stay abroad, and became an interpreter for the Beiping Military Coordination Office. At work, she got acquainted with CCP leaders such as *** and Li Kenong, and these contacts made her more determined to move closer to the Communist Party.
After the outbreak of the civil war and the dissolution of the Military Coordination Office, Wang Guangmei did not choose to study abroad, but resolutely flew to Yan'an, the holy land of revolution, on the plane of the US military representative. After she arrived in Yan'an, she joined the Foreign Affairs Group of the ** Military Commission and settled in Wangjiaping to continue to fight for the revolutionary cause.
In Yan'an, Wang Guangmei met the author of "On the Cultivation of Communist Party Members", and since then, her life has undergone earth-shaking changes. Prior to this, ** had already experienced five marriages, the first of which was "the order of the parents and the words of the matchmaker", and he spent a night of ideological work on his "wife" in the cave room.
His second wife, Ho Baozhen, died in a reactionary prison in 1934. And ***'s third and fourth marriages were also unsuccessful. But all this changed the moment he met Wang Guangmei.
They have supported each other all their lives and have gone through many difficult moments together, and their love story is like a moving song, which is very moving.
**During the Liberation War, he was busy with work, his family and children made him incompetent, and he was tormented by stomach problems, and his body was emaciated. At a dance party organized by **, he met Wang Guangmei.
They had a brief conversation and had some affection for the young girl.
*The commander saw it in his eyes and felt distressed about *** taking the child alone. He discussed with his wife Kang Keqing, hoping to match the two. So, Kang Keqing deliberately took Wang Guangmei to the residence of Zaoyuan***.
There, they had an in-depth conversation, and Wang Guangmei realized that the author of "On the Cultivation of Communist Party Members" who led her on the revolutionary road was none other than ***
We can't imagine how Wang Guangmei felt at that time, but we can imagine that it was the shock of a long-time idol suddenly appearing in front of us. The two developed deep emotions because of this, and they were also attracted to this elegant girl.
In 1947, Hu Zongnan attacked Yan'an and decided to transfer. **Emphasizing that eggs cannot be put in one basket, *** and Dong Biwu formed a **Working Committee, which was responsible for transferring to the central Hebei region and opening up the Xibaipo base area.
Wang Guangmei, on the other hand, moved to the northwest with the team and devoted herself to the land reform movement. In March 1948, Wang Guangmei arrived in Xibaipo, saw her again, did not want to miss the opportunity again, made up his mind to confess to her, and started a lifetime of hand-in-hand.
** confessed his life process and personal feelings to Wang Guangmei, and also expressed his deep affection to her. Although his expression is not gorgeous, it is sincere and simple, which deeply touched Wang Guangmei.
Wang Guangmei has always been full of admiration and admiration for ***, and her diligent work attitude and revolutionary spirit moved her even more. So, Wang Guangmei accepted ***'s confession.
On August 21, 1948, they held a simple but solemn wedding in Xibaipo, and the leaders came to congratulate them. Wang Guangmei's colleagues also made cakes for them, which was the icing on the cake for their beautiful marriage.
In the hard life of Xibaipo, Wang Guangmei served as the secretary general of the first class for 19 years, although they lived together for only 20 years, but the relationship heated up rapidly during this period.
Their residence is next to the courtyard of ***, a dilapidated and dim cottage has become their "home", there is no double bed, two benches are covered with wooden planks is their bed.
In such an environment, their love is getting deeper and deeper.
In 1961, the People's Republic of China was in the most difficult period of its economy. **Respond** call to return to rural Hunan for research. Wang Guangmei, as a secretary, went with him.
They spent that unforgettable time in Huaminglou, Ningxiang County, **'s hometown is located in the southeast of Ningxiang County, with undulating mountains and beautiful scenery.
The beautiful scenery here deeply attracted Wang Guangmei, and the enthusiasm of the people in her hometown also made her feel the warmth of home.
Before they went to Ningxiang Huaminglou Tanzichong, they specially went to the local grassroots ** to understand the situation. Although the staff of the county ** were already waiting at the door to receive them, no one noticed them because the couple was too plain in dress, and they thought it was an old classmate of ** who came to do something.
However, Wang Guangmei's outstanding temperament was discovered by a staff member, who asked Wang Guangmei: "Chairman Liu is in **?" Wang Guangmei smiled and pointed to *** Everyone recognized him.
This incident did not displease ***, he didn't mind pulling these grassroots staff to a meeting, and took the initiative to ask about the local situation. During this period, ** also took Wang Guangmei to find his mother's grave.
The local staff asked him if he needed to repair the cemetery, but he refused, and offered to remove the cemetery if it was to be greened or built with public facilities in the future.
Despite their busy schedules, Wang Guangmei and her family did not stay in Huaming Tower for a long time, but they did not expect that this brief reunion would become a memory more than 20 years later.
It was not until November 27, 1983 that Wang Guangmei set foot in Huaming Tower again, this time with her daughter Liu Aiqin and son Liu Yuan.
Wang Guangmei returned to Huaming Building after a 22-year absence to participate in the opening of the former residence. Although this place is the hometown of ***, she has only been to it once, but looking at the beautiful village, she has the idea of returning to her roots, and feels that this is her home.
When they learned that Wang Guangmei was going to attend this event, the residents of Tanzichong surrounded the former residence of *** early. Looking at these simple villagers, Wang Guangmei was moved to tears, she didn't expect that after so many years, they still loved *** and her so much.
Returning to ***'s former home, looking at the place where her husband grew up, and touching the things that her husband used to use, she couldn't help but think of the memories with ***.
Wang Guangmei decided to leave her eternal memories in Huaming Building, where the ashes are stored, so she actively contributed to the construction of the former residence and donated her husband's precious relics to the former residence.
On November 24, 1988, the opening of the memorial hall coincided with the 90th birthday anniversary, and he personally inscribed the name of the museum, and Yang Shangkun also attended the opening ceremony and made a speech.
He said that Comrade **'s contribution to the revolution and New China was immeasurable, and his experience of interacting with *** made him deeply regretful. Wang Guangmei, who was in the audience, couldn't help but burst into tears when she heard these words.
Wang Guangmei is concerned about her homeland, and has visited her former residence and mother's cemetery many times, and finally stopped in front of the bronze statue. Despite suffering from cancer, she is still actively involved in the "Happiness Project - Helping Poor Mothers" at the age of 70.
On October 13, 2006, Wang Guangmei died of illness in Beijing, and she still remembered *** and Huaming Building when she was dying. Her tenacity and affection are endless admiration and nostalgia for ***.
In accordance with his mother's wishes, Liu Yuan donated all his 150,000 pensions and savings to the "Happiness Project", and buried Wang Guangmei in Huaming Building, his hometown.
Wang Guangmei's tombstone is tall and holy, white and flawless, as radiant as herself. It echoes with the bronze statue of ***, and this enviable fairy couple has finally been able to sleep together forever.
