Amazon Web Services (AWS) announces the launch of its first Amazon CloudFront edge location in Istanbul, Turkey. The new edge locations provide secure, reliable, high-performance connectivity to the AWS global network and support AWS services such as Amazon Cloudfront, AWS Shield, and AWS Web Application Firewall (WAF). With a 30% increase in data latency transmitted through the new edge location, customers in Turkey can deliver faster, more responsive applications to end users.

AWS has the largest global infrastructure footprint of any cloud provider. With the launch of Amazon CloudFront edge locations, Turkey offers the most secure, reliable, and scalable cloud computing environment with the highest quality network performance, consisting of more than 600 CloudFront Points of Presence (POPs) in more than 100 cities and 13 regional edge caches in 51 countries, connected to the AWS global infrastructure network, designed to deliver.

The new AWS Edge Location brings all the benefits of Amazon CloudFront, a highly secure content delivery network (CDN) that accelerates the delivery of data,** applications, and application programming interfaces (APIs) to users around the world. By caching content at edge locations in Turkey, on-premises Amazon CloudFront customers can benefit from improved performance, network security, and application-level protection.

Amazon CloudFront improves security with traffic encryption and access control. All Amazon CloudFront edge locations are protected from infrastructure-grade distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) threats with always** network flow monitoring and inline attack mitigation services, which minimize application latency and downtime when combined with AWS Shield. With AWS Web Application Firewall (WAF) protection out of the box, customers can create and configure security rules to protect against common vulnerabilities and bot attacks. Amazon CloudFront integrates with AWS services such as Amazon **Storage Service (Amazon S3), Elastic Load Balancing, and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) as application sources. There's also support for running serverless** close to end users for customization with lambda@edge.
