The most touching thing is the real thing
When it comes to realistic painting, I think "art" and "technique" are parallel predecessors. In other words, we often think more about the words "art" and "fine arts", but we do far less in the aspects of "art". After the idea and specific composition of a work have been established, the next question is how to use to produce the picture, and the specific production is the key to the success or failure of the picture. The works of some masters or some experienced painters, whether they are painting a head, a group of still lifes, a study work or a large-scale masterpiece, first of all, make people feel that the painting is highly skilled, the creation is very full and perfect, and the author's ideas can finally be fully expressed through techniques and techniques. Therefore, I personally believe that what we often lack is not only "art" and "beauty", but also not enough at the level of "art", so that our ideas cannot be well expressed.
I advocate figurative realistic painting, that is, the state of natural reality that our eyes see, no matter whether the degree of realism is close to nature or not, after all, what we do is "live", which is expressed through painting means, and the relationship between man and nature is expressed on canvas or other materials through points, lines, surfaces, colors and other elements. It expresses truth, goodness, and beauty, and describes the realm beyond the picture, so that people's vision can first enter the picture, have a dialogue with the picture, and then think about the meaning outside the picture.
Realistic painting is a painstaking, long-term labor process, just like the workers working and the farmers farming, they have to manage it every day. No matter whether the artistic quality of the picture is high or low, every part of the picture, every wonderful and touching detail, must be depicted and touched through long-term hard work, and there must be no laziness, otherwise, it can only be realized and the pen cannot be written, and there will be no moving effect. Yang Feiyun said: "Art and reality are two different things, but I think the most touching thing about realistic painting is the real thing."

A simple and dispassionate depiction
In general, a work is always an interpretation of the author's life and thoughts. Sometimes, before the author is revealed in the work, people feel him and look for themselves in the personality of the person; Sometimes, the author hides himself and uses the work to compose a world, and the viewer unconsciously enters it and shares it.
In Fang Jianping's works, the world is vast and lonely, containing his joys and sorrows, hidden thoughts and the source of life. We hear a muffled voice, but we don't know who he is; He is the one who carries a heavy load, and he is the lonely one. Fang Jianping is a sober narrator, using his stubbornness to almost forget himself, to observe and convey this indifferent world. We can say that his paintings are classical and realistic, but in each work, we experience the breadth and richness beyond the picture. Fang Jianping comes from the edge of the Gobi, a city that is still barren and has been assimilated by modern civilization; And his straightforward character, his good wine and inner show, all determine the toughness and dignified style of his painting.
In the field of realism, there are mixed fish and dragons, there are differences between the literary and the wild, and the superior and the low, and Fang Jianping is undoubtedly the one with an unusually pure and upright attitude, from the plain to the subtle, with almost hard work, approaching and grasping the world that moved him and oppressed him from the beginning. His paintings are simple, direct, heavy in color, and delicate in depiction; His material is always realistic, and the picture is also very skillful. In recent works, the painter is more at ease, and the people in the painting seem to be connected with him, such as "Man", the standing posture and facial expressions of the characters are strong and confident, which is also Fang Jianping's character. The object of "Window Bone" is a broken window, but it is a spiritual metaphor that has survived the wind and frost.
Fang Jianping is worthy of respect, his works and people, in the fast-changing modern life, in the pursuit of instantaneous experience and witty changes in the modern art trend, appear too stable, more faintly reveal a sense of sadness, however, this is also the power of the work. This is where classical art comes in. One devotes his whole life to constructing, a divine wholeness, where life and art aspire to perfection and eternity.
