Mr. Zong Qinghou, the "richest man in cloth shoes", passed away, and thousands of people spontaneously said goodbye in the rain, and nearly 400,000 people mourned online.
The memorial service for Zong Qinghou, the founder of China's national brand "Wahaha", was held on Wednesday (February 28) at the Xiasha base in Hangzhou. Despite the heavy rain, thousands of people still braved the rain to see them off, and nearly 400,000 people paid their respects online. Because there were too many people, dozens of traffic police and security guards maintained traffic order on the spot. The people who had not made an appointment stood in the middle of the road, gathered at the door and shouted, "Zong Lao go all the way!" Some people even argued with the staff and wanted to go inside and bow down. A nearby flower shop owner said that in just a few hours, he received orders from outsiders to offer flowers and mourn, and he has sent more than a dozen times.
It is rare for so many ordinary people to spontaneously mourn a person, a wealthy tycoon, in the past 40 years of reform.
Why? Because his character is respected, his entrepreneurship is admired, and his spirit is inspiring.
The first is the spirit of not being afraid of bad luck. Mr. Zong started his business at the age of 42, and he was not afraid of difficulties or believes in evil, and finally succeeded in his career. In 2010, 2012 and 2013, he won the Forbes list of "China's richest man" three times! If it were ordinary people, they would have already resigned themselves to their fate and counted on their children and grandchildren. But now some young people are early Buddha, lying flat, complaining about the sky, and their hearts are like dry wells, how sad!
The second is the responsibility of entrepreneurs. In the past 40 years of reform, the first rich people have been ranked among the world's top 500 companies, but how many people care about their employees and help the later rich? And Mr. Zong Lao remembered the livelihood and well-being of the more than 20,000 employees of the company and more than 20,000 families afterwards.
The third is the feelings of the family and country that do not abandon the homeland. In today's China, how many people sell their industries and move their families to the west after becoming famous? How many celebrities "make money in China and live in the United States"? Mr. Ke Zong never gave up and was always a Chinese citizen. And the recall of the daughter who studied in the United States to continue the career of the Chinese brand of "Wahaha" is moving and admirable.
Fourth, a low-key and simple style of life. Although he has been on the wealth list of "China's richest man" three times, he is not publicized, not extravagant, not pompous, no scandals, and often wears a pair of cloth shoes of dozens of yuan, known as "the richest man in cloth shoes", how many are there in China?
Perhaps, Mr. Zong is not perfect, but his life, career and morality are also perfect! If the Chinese people can be rich and benevolent, poor and inspiring, and unite as one, will China's rejuvenation be far away?
