Recently, Israel has found itself in the difficult situation of being attacked on all sides in the Middle East. The Israeli army is responding to attacks from seven fronts at the same time, which puts tremendous pressure on Israel.

The Israeli ace brigade suffered heavy losses in the battle with Hamas and was forced to retreat from the front line to recuperate. At the same time, Israel is gradually falling into international isolation, with more and more countries expressing opposition to its military action in Gaza, and even some European countries that previously supported Israel have defected to join the international anti-Israel camp.

To make matters worse, Yemen's Houthi blockade of the Red Sea waters has resulted in the near extinction of ships entering and leaving Israeli ports, dealing a fatal blow to the country's economy. Against this backdrop, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he had asked China to do more to rescue Israeli personnel detained by Hamas.

Israel's real purpose in asking China may not only be to rescue the hostages, but more importantly, it hopes that China will play a role in promoting talks and persuading peace on the issue of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Israel hopes to use China's influence on Iran to get Iran to stop supporting Islamist attacks on Israel across the Middle East.

However, to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Israel also needs to show sufficient sincerity. The cessation of military operations in the Gaza Strip is an important start. Only when both sides show good faith and resolve disputes through peaceful negotiations can lasting peace in the region be achieved.

As a responsible major country, China is willing to contribute to regional peace and stability within its capacity. However, the achievement of peace requires the joint efforts of all parties, and Israel also needs to take positive action to create the conditions for peace.
