In the year, Deng Gong decisively stopped aid to Albania and avoided the emergence of a second Vietnam.
The story of Mr. Dong Guo and the wolf is not only known for the fun of its fables, but also for the profound educational significance behind it. This story tells us that in the face of those people or things who enjoy our help with peace of mind, not only do not repay us, but even deal with us in turn, we should stop losses in time.
It's like in the 70s of the last century, we met a horse"Wolves", that is, Vietnam. We were very vigilant about this and decisively stopped aid to Albania in 1978 in order to prevent the emergence of a second Vietnam.
Therefore, we should learn from this story and for those people or things that are not worthy of our help, we should decisively stop losses so as not to cause greater losses.
As a country committed to the peace and development of the world, China has always spared no effort to provide assistance to countries with friendly diplomatic relations. Albania is one of the beneficiaries, and we have not only carried out ** with Albania, but also carried out poverty alleviation assistance one after another.
According to statistics, in the 24 years from 1954 to 1978, we provided a total of 75 grants to Albania, amounting to more than 10 billion yuan.
In addition, we have provided them with a large number of project assistance, and by 1978 91 projects had been completed, most of which were national infrastructure projects.
These are all important help that we provide to Albania.
With our full support, new industrial sectors such as steel, fertilizers, alkali production, acid production, glass, copper processing, papermaking, plastics, and military industry have been gradually established in Albania, and significant progress has been made in electricity, coal, petroleum, machinery, light industry, textiles, building materials, communications and broadcasting.
Although China's economy was not developed at that time, and in the 50s and 70s of the last century, we were also facing difficulties ourselves, and the country under the planned economy originally had nothing to spare, but we still tried our best to provide assistance to Afghanistan, and finally achieved a realistic version of the story of Mr. Dongguo and the wolf.
One might ask, why would we lend a helping hand to this country? Later, to what extent did the diplomatic relations between the two countries develop?
On October 1, 1949, the People's Republic of China was proclaimed, but in that special international environment, only a handful of countries recognized China's independence, but Albania was one of them.
It may be because of the same beliefs of the two countries that such a move has occurred, but this is undoubtedly a relief for us, and China has therefore launched a friendly and mutual assistance exchange with Albania.
Since then, the two countries have sent representatives to congratulate each other on major holidays, and the relationship between the two countries has been very solid.
After Stalin's death, relations between the two countries underwent uncontrollable changes. At first, the two countries were jointly opposed to Khrushchev's new policy, but with the unilateral isolation of our country by the Soviet Union and its coercion against Albania, Albania's attitude towards our country changed.
With the withdrawal of the Soviet Union, Albania fell into a panic, and instead of trying to be self-reliant, they became more dependent on the aid of our country. However, our country was also developing very difficult at that time and was not able to assist Albania without reservation, as it had done before.
It now seems outrageous that our country has done everything to help Albania in exchange for their "rightful absence".
In the process of long-term assistance, Albania has developed a mentality of dependence, always expecting help from others in the face of difficulties, rather than trying to solve problems on its own.
This kind of behavior reminds people of the "Adou who can't be helped", and they even take pride and say self-righteously: "If we don't ask you for something, then who else can we ask for?" ”
They never took into account the actual situation in China, they always opened their mouths, never reciprocated, and even used the cotton we gave them to weave cloth, and signed unequal treaties with us, and insisted on selling our goods to us, which is really painful.
In addition, they also have a lot of waste of resources, scientific researchers discourage this, but they always say no, let's give them again, this shameless behavior made the leaders at that time deeply saddened, but also made them reflect that it is right to help friendly countries, but everything should have a degree.
In 1978, at a special meeting of the ** Politburo, Deng Gong, with unique foresight and determination, decided to suspend aid to Albania. Although everyone present could feel Deng Gong's disappointment in his heart, his move came from behind and directly revealed the true face of Albania.
As the proverb says,"Ascend Mien, fight Mi Qiu"After receiving our assistance, Albania not only expelled the staff of our embassy, but also openly opposed and excluded China in the country, and even stored a large number of listening devices aided by our state in its new embassy.
This fact is undoubtedly the best proof of Deng Gong's far-sighted and wise move.
In our most difficult moments, we never forgot to help this country; In the process of our rapid development, we have not given up on supporting them. However, for some material reasons, there has been incredible behavior in Albania.
Fortunately, the wise decision in 1978 averted the emergence of a second Vietnam. After all, Vietnam helped them a lot when they did not engage in a military conflict with us, but the final outcome of the two countries is still regrettable.
Now it seems that Albania's approach can't help but make us sigh again about the necessity of ***'s decision-making for our country to stop losses in a timely manner. After all, no one wants to be a wrongdoer forever, and a wrongdoer who is both laborious and unrewarded.
There is a saying in interpersonal communication that is deeply rooted in people's hearts, and that is that helping others is out of affection, not obligation. Similarly, China's assistance to other countries should be guided by this principle.
Although we are all independent countries, we are not obliged to help other countries unconditionally. The lessons of history have taught us that being too generous can lead to greed and unreasonable demands on the other side, and may even pose a threat to our country and people.
Therefore, in the case of Afghanistan, we should also stop losses in time to ensure that the wealth created by the hard work of our working people is not wasted. As Deng Gong's foresight shows, we should handle foreign aid rationally and prudently.
