After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he lived in the West Flower Hall of Zhongnanhai, and the West Flower Hall has also become an important symbol of the West Flower Hall, known as the "master of the West Flower Hall".
However, what is little known is that from June 1, 1974 to his death on January 8, 1976, in the last year and a half, ** never went back to the West Flower Hall, what is the reason for this?
As early as May 1972, the doctor found cancer cells in the urine of *** and recommended that he have surgery immediately, but, ** was too busy with work to have time for surgery at all, and just took some conservative **.
In 1974, **'s condition became more and more serious, and at everyone's strong request, he agreed to go to the hospital for surgery.
On June 1, ** left the West Flower Hall and was admitted to the 305 Hospital of the People's Liberation Army.
At that time, ** may have had a hunch that he would probably not come back, and before leaving, he specially walked around the West Flower Hall and took a look at everything, and then reluctantly left.
As a result, I went and never came back!
In that more than a year and a half, ** underwent a total of 14 surgeries, which brought down his body while suppressing the cancer cells.
Moreover, even during the hospitalization, ** did not let go of work, except for the time of surgery, the rest of the time still maintained almost the same work intensity as usual.
According to the statistics of his guard Gao Zhenpu, in those 587 days, a total of 40 meetings were held, 254 people were interviewed, 65 foreign guests were met, and the number of other documents reviewed was even more countless!
Gao Zhenpu later said with emotion that they originally thought that after being admitted to the hospital, they would be able to rest a little more, but they didn't expect that the prime minister treated the ward as an office, and the workload was not reduced at all!
On January 8, 1976, ** closed his eyes forever in the hospital, and was unable to go back to see his favorite West Flower Hall.
In addition, Mr. Zhu lived in Zhongnanhai Yongfutang after the founding of the People's Republic of China, but since 1969, Mr. Zhu has left Zhongnanhai and never went back to live, what is the reason for this?
In March 1969, the famous Zhenbao Island Incident broke out, and Sino-Soviet relations suddenly became tense, and the Soviet Union clamored for a surgical nuclear strike on China.
In this case, for the safety of the leaders, they began to be evacuated to other places, such as Mr. Zhu, Dong Biwu, Zhang Yunyi and others, who were evacuated to Guangdong.
At that time, Mr. Zhu was 83 years old and in poor health, so he was arranged in a sanatorium and could not go out without approval.
It was not until July 1970 that the situation in Beijing had improved, and Mr. Zhu returned to Beijing, but he did not return to Zhongnanhai, but lived in Xinliusuo on Wanshou Road in the western suburbs.
The so-called "New Six" is that in the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China, because Zhongnanhai was in disrepair and unsuitable for living, six houses were built on Wanshou Road for the six leaders to facilitate their living and office, which was called the "New Six".
However, later, everyone still lived in Zhongnanhai and rarely went to the new six institutes.
So, when Mr. Zhu returned to Beijing this time, why didn't he go to Zhongnanhai to live, but to live in the new sixth institute?
Regarding this issue, there are two main reasons, one is the interference of ** and ** and others, who do not want him to return to Zhongnanhai, and the other is Mr. Zhu's own choice.
Since the outbreak of the "Cultural Revolution", Mr. Zhu has not been very understanding, and later the things that ** and ** and others did made him very unaccustomed to it, but he couldn't do anything about it, so he simply didn't go back to Zhongnanhai, out of sight and out of mind, and he couldn't afford to hide if he couldn't be provoked!
Since then, Mr. Zhu's family lived in Xinliusuo until his death on July 6, 1976, where he spent the last six years of his life.
This is the situation of Mr. Zhu and *** in their later years, although the reasons are different, but neither of them can return to Zhongnanhai, which has become a big regret.
