As one of the initiators of the "Sino-German Bridge" project, the famous German cellist Professor Prof Christoph Henkel has always had a deep affection for China. Christopher Heinkel began cello studies at the age of 6 and became a professor at the age of 26, and has taught at Indiana University, Illinois State University, Michigan State University, and 43 years at the ** College in Freiburg, Germany. He is currently teaching at the ** Academy in Trosingen, Germany.
As a soloist, Professor Heinkel has worked with the Berliner Philharmoniker and with the Radio Symphony Orchestras in Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Hannover, Copenhagen and Seoul. Conductors he has worked with include Erić Reinsdot, Wenceslas Newman, Ilya Huinbar, and others. As a chamber musician, Professor Heinkel has performed with many outstanding performers. Among them are Salvador Accardo, Norbert Bryning, Rudolf Fakunis, Joseph Ginghor, Woolf Holschel, Robert Levine, and others.
At the same time, Professor Heinkel also formed the Dreisam Trio with Nikolaas Shumachenko and Michiel Reusler. *Critics have consistently praised Christoph Henkel as an artist par excellence. In addition to a large number of conferences, radio recordings and television recordings, Heinkel has also recorded a large number of excellent recordings with Deutsche Grammophon Records, EMI Records, CBS, Columbia Co., Ltd. and other companies. His performances of the Cello Suites, Beethoven Cello Sonatas, Kodály Cello Solo Sonatas, and duets are particularly highly regarded by critics. His album "Kodály Cello Solo Sonata and Duet" won the "Charles Crowe Academy Award". In addition, he participated in the Voschaansbach Festival, the Monttrix Festival, the Schwisinger Festival, and the Pradecasa Festival, in which he was a soloist.
