On the third day of the first lunar month, the flavor of the New Year is strong, and at the Sino-Thai base in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, the youth players of Zheneng Greentown U17 have resumed training to prepare for the upcoming 2024 Chinese Football Association Youth Football Championship. Katsushi Yano, the U17 head coach from Japan, directed the training on the field and cheered for the players over and over again. In the company of these children, he spent his first Chinese New Year in China.

In February last year, Katsushi Yano came to Zhejiang Professional Football Club to participate in youth training. Talking about his first Spring Festival in China, Yano Katsushi said that the Spring Festival is the most important festival in China, and there are similar festivals in Japan, but it is not the same as the Spring Festival. "I really wanted to learn about the customs of different countries, and on Chinese New Year's Eve, I had a Chinese New Year's Eve dinner with my teammates, which made me feel very fresh. ”

In Zhejiang, the exchange of football youth training between China and Japan began as early as 2012. At that time, in order to prepare for the National Games, Zhejiang Professional Football Club invited two Japanese coaches through the famous Japanese football coach Takeshi Okada. They led their respective teams to the podium at the 2013 National Games. On this basis, in 2014, under the matchmaking of Takeshi Okada, the club and the Japanese coaching team started a comprehensive youth training cooperation. Now, more than 10 years of youth training exchanges have made each other understand each other more deeply.

Katsushi Yano told reporters that the physical fitness of Chinese youth players is better than that of Japanese youth players, but they are still lacking in technology and skills. At the same time, Chinese youth players should also learn how to make their own choices and judgments on the field. "The rational use of some techniques and tactics of Japanese football, coupled with their own physical fitness, can bring them to a higher platform. ”

I want to teach some of the concepts of Japanese youth training to Chinese children, hoping to help them improve. In addition to technical tactics, he also brought the concepts of self-discipline and attention to detail to the green field, Yano said. Assistant coach Fu Qiang told reporters that Japanese coaches are very meticulous in all aspects, and have strict requirements for every detail such as body orientation, body position conversion, passing and stopping.

After the training, the reporter saw that Katsushi Yano gathered the players together to summarize the progress and shortcomings of the day.

Seeing the players stay enthusiastic and improve is the happiest thing about Katsushi Yano's tenure. "I want to convey the joy of playing football to every child as much as possible, and I hope that they will always have the mentality of giving it their all. The team members are very understanding and cooperative, and they work harder, which also makes me realize the value and significance of this job. ”

Now, the three-day Spring Festival holiday stipulated by the team has passed, and the players and coaches have invested in more intense preparations. Katsushi Yano also temporarily gave up his plans to visit Hangzhou's attractions, and when talking to reporters, Yano Katsushi said with a smile: "There are people everywhere outside during the Spring Festival, so it's better for me to stay at the training ground."
