Follow me and I will share some interesting stories and experiences on a regular basis to exchange educational experiences together.

During college, many students want to be able to enrich themselves with their spare time. They participate in competitions and activities organized by the school or society, which can not only accumulate experience, show their talents, but also get some honors. Among them, a common activity is to participate in volunteer teaching, which can not only add credits and help students select national scholarships, but also enrich resumes and enhance the competitiveness of future employment.

In recent years, China's education field has continued to develop, but the gap between urban and rural educational resources still exists. Children in some mountainous areas and counties do not have access to good educational resources, and there are relatively few teachers in schools. Some schools only have a few teachers who take turns in class, and each teacher needs to master multiple subjects in order to be able to teach students. Therefore, at first, many regional staff welcomed the support of university students. The university students come from the city, have broad knowledge, advanced ideas and broad horizons. However, as time went on, more and more college students volunteered to teach. Nowadays, many village party secretaries and school teachers do not want college students to come to teach anymore. Some village party secretaries even had to helplessly appeal to college students, "Please, don't come."

Students who choose to teach in rural or mountainous areas often only teach for a short period of time during the holidays and do not stay for a long time. However, for the students in the mountain village, it is not a good thing. They were very happy to see the city's "teacher" coming. But after a few days of adaptation, these teachers leave quickly, and students often face teacher turnover, which is not conducive to their learning. In addition, some college students come to teach not to help students sincerely, but to increase credits or improve the competitiveness of future employment. In such cases, college students often lack patience with students who grew up in poor villages, and instead of imparting useful knowledge, they bring harm to the students' minds. At the same time, some students grew up in cities and had difficulty adapting to the rural environment. The village party secretary tried his best to find the best house for the students, but the students left after not staying for a few days, which wasted time and energy. Therefore, seeing this situation, many village party secretaries will call on college students not to come to the village to teach for the sake of the interests of the students.

For those students who really want to contribute to the cause of education, becoming an excellent teacher is the reason why they choose the teaching profession or teacher training college. These students have the heart of education, and naturally have the idea of teaching. However, if students really want to participate in volunteer teaching, they should not make a choice on impulse, but should participate in some formal volunteer teaching activities organized by the school. For this type of event, the school will interview the students who apply. The interview is mainly divided into three rounds, the first round is self-introduction, the second round is the teaching inspection, and the third round is the leaderless group test, which examines the students' organizational and leadership skills. After passing the interview, students will also undergo two months of training, during which they will be taught specific teaching methods and teamwork skills. This model of volunteer teaching is more standardized, which not only ensures the safety of students, but also ensures that students can truly teach useful knowledge to local students.

Volunteer teaching activities are a good opportunity for college students to give full play to their professional knowledge and abilities and contribute to the cause of education. However, due to the lack of normative participation and awareness of educational responsibility among some college students, as well as the gap between urban and rural educational resources, volunteer teaching activities have become complicated and difficult in some rural areas. In order to ensure the learning effectiveness of students and the well-being of rural children, we need to standardize volunteer teaching activities, provide students with necessary training and selection, and improve their educational quality and teaching ability. At the same time, students should also think carefully about their motivation and ability before participating in volunteer teaching, so as to ensure that they can bring real help to rural students, interpret the power of education with their own actions, and help the development of rural education.
