In Beijing in January, heavy snow falls. Wrapped in a thick puffer jacket, I sat in front of my computer ready to plan a crazy movie-watching trip. At the beginning of the new year, a number of popular dramas have appeared one after another, and the competition of domestic dramas is in full swing. I browsed through the drama reviews and decided to focus on "Dajiang Dahe 3" on CCTV 1 and "Dog Leftovers Run" on CCTV 8. Both of these dramas have a good reputation at the box office, but which one is more worth watching? I vaguely remember that the first two seasons of "Big River" brought tears to my eyes, is the third part just as good this time? And I'm curious about comedies like "Dog Run", which is set against a war backdrop. 
First of all, let's take a look at "Big River 3". The ratings of this CCTV masterpiece were mediocre at the beginning of the broadcast, and the plot rhythm was extremely slow, which made many viewers lose interest. But with the launch of the explosive plot in the middle section, its popularity gradually rebounded. I couldn't wait to open ***, but I was a little hesitant after browsing the comments - netizens had a very poor reputation, and they complained about the character settings and the inexplicable direction of the story. Let's take a positive look at it first. Opening the first episode, the story begins with a pesticide factory. The heroine Wei Chunhong and the actor Lei Dongbao have been married for many years and have a stable relationship. Who knew that the actor Lei Dongbao met a female employee Feng Xinxin who looked like his late ex-wife in the company, and he actually fell in love with her. So, he pretended to be drunk and hugged Feng Xinxin in the car, and later had a relationship with her and made her pregnant with a child. I was shocked, this plot development is too abrupt, right? Two people who have never known each other have children together for no reason, and the actor Lei Dongbao doesn't consider the feelings of his wife and children at all. The plot turns to dog blood, which makes me extremely uncomfortable to watch. 
In the next few episodes, in order to hide people's eyes, Lei Dongbao actually threatened his son to help him complete the divorce procedures. After that, he handed over the passbook to his ex-wife Wei Chunhong and had a relationship with her again. This is completely beyond my acceptance, and it is simply humiliating the audience's three views. The plot is boring, the characters are distorted, and as the story progresses, I can no longer raise interest to continue reading. A long-awaited sequel became my first abandoned drama of the new year. When I was feeling down, I decided to switch to another hit drama, "Dog Run". It's a war comedy, and I'm relatively new to its genre. But when I opened it, the first episode made me laugh. The male protagonist Gou Yu is a little man who loves money and is afraid of death, he tries his best to escape from the battlefield and tricks his younger brother into impersonating. Unexpectedly, the plan failed, and in the end, he couldn't escape the fate of being conscripted into the army. 
After entering the army, the dog pretended to be sick and dead, trying to escape in every possible way. The battle of wits between him and his comrades made me laugh out loud. Especially when he designed to let his comrade-in-arms Yang San, who wanted to keep him, take laxatives, he made a series of jokes, and I could see that I was leaning back and forth. It can be seen that this drama is set in the war, but it completely breaks through my stereotype of being heavy and depressed. It uses light-hearted and lively jokes and exaggerated and funny techniques to express the confusion and awakening of simple people in those years. When I caught up in the sixth episode, I finally realized that I couldn't blindly shirk my responsibilities, and began to learn to think about others and establish a sincere friendship between my comrades. This transition is extremely meaningful and brings tears to our eyes. There was no frivolity as I imagined, but it made me think deeply about human nature. 
If I had to pick a drama that I had to invest in in the New Year, I would not hesitate to recommend "Dog Run". It has a solid core, the characters have distinct personalities, and the comedic elements are just right. And "Big River 3" disappointed me a lot, the relationship between the characters was tangled and ambiguous, and the plot was nothing new, deviating from the quality of this series. This year, my journey to watching dramas will start with a good drama that knows how to warm people's hearts. It makes me laugh, it makes me cry, it makes me think deeply. I hope that under its influence, I can also grow and learn to face life. I believe that the new year will be even better.
