With the beginning of the general mobilization, Ukrainians continue to receive summons from the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Lawyer Ilya Shypko explained whether a family can mobilize only one person.

According to the lawyer, many Ukrainians mistakenly believe that the TCC, or conscription office, can only mobilize an able-bodied man from the family. In fact, the current legislation of Ukraine does not provide for the mobilization of several men suitable for military service from a single family, in particular, it does not prohibit the simultaneous mobilization of fathers and sons.

Therefore, if both father and son in a family are eligible for service, they can legally be conscripted into the army at the same time, with certain exceptions.

"First of all, in families with women with disabilities, fathers and sons cannot be mobilized at the same time. According to Article 23 of the Ukrainian "Mobilization Law", one of the people must remain in the family to take care of her and therefore have the right to postpone the mobilization. The legislation does not specify who has the right to extend. Therefore, fathers and sons need to negotiate who will enlist in the army."

In addition, fathers with three children under the age of 18 who need to be raised cannot be mobilized with their adult sons. Also in accordance with the provisions of Article 23 of the Law on Mobilization of Ukraine, he will have the right to postpone the mobilization and keep the family to raise children, "the lawyer said.

In addition to these special circumstances, there are no legal restrictions on the mobilization of sons and fathers together at the same time. In fact, there are already quite a few Ukrainian families where fathers and sons have received enlistment notices at the same time, and what a heavy thing for these families. It is extremely difficult for a weak and small nation to struggle.
