The first draw ceremony for the 2024 Chinese Football Association Cup was held in Shanghai on February 23. The format shows that the Chinese Super League teams will start participating from the fourth round. A total of 80 teams have participated in this season's FA Cup, with a total of 79 matches played.
The first round of the FA Cup will feature 16 qualifying winners at home against some of the teams in the second and second divisions and other teams in the FA Cup qualifying round, with the match taking place from 15 to 17 March.
The 16 teams that advanced to the first round will play at home in the second round against 16 teams from China B, which will be played from April 20 to 22.
The 16 teams that advance to the second round will play at home in the third round against 16 teams from the Chinese League to 19 May.
The 16 teams that advance to the third round will play at home in the fourth round against 16 Chinese Super League teams on June 21-23.
In the event of a draw between the first and fourth rounds, the match will be decided directly on penalties after 90 minutes.
After the fourth round, the organizing committee will hold the second draw of the tournament to determine the matchup situation and home and away arrangements from rounds 5 to 8. During rounds 5 to 8, if the match is tied within 90 minutes, 30 minutes of extra time will be played, and if the two teams are still tied, it will be decided by penalty shoot-out.
The fifth round is the 1 8 finals, which will be played from July 15 to 17.
The sixth round is the 1 4 finals, which will be played from August 20 to 22.
The seventh round will be the semi-finals, which will be played on September 24-26.
The eighth round will be the final, which will be played on November 25.
