During the Soviet period, Gu Bai and Zeng Biyi were an enviable pair of revolutionary partners, they got acquainted in patriotism and embarked on the road of revolution together.

In the early days of the Red Army, all of them served as secretaries of *** and made an extremely important contribution to the revolution. However, for various reasons, Cooper failed to participate in the Long March, but stayed in the **Soviet area to continue guerrilla warfare, and in the end, he was raided by the enemy and unfortunately died at the age of 29.

The cause of the death of the martyr Cooper has always been a mystery, and it was not until after the founding of New China that a chance encounter gradually revealed the truth. He and Zeng Biyi worked together for the revolutionary cause and made great contributions.

So what was the real cause of Cooper's death? And who? The answer to all this was revealed by *** after a chance encounter.

Comrade Zeng Biyi, is that you? "Kindly stepped forward and asked. Zeng Biyi was both surprised and happy when she saw the chairman take the initiative to say hello. Although she and her husband Cooper served as the secretary of *** together and spent the years of fighting side by side, after the establishment of New China, ** was busy with official business and rarely had the opportunity to see her again.

Therefore, when Zeng Biyi learned that the chairman still remembered her, she couldn't help but feel very excited. Then, she continued, "With the help of **, my child was found in Ruijin. ”

As soon as I heard this, ** was very happy for her, and my thoughts couldn't help but drift to the past. After a while, he asked, "Has the ** who killed Comrade Cooper been found?" ”

Hearing this question, the smile on Zeng Biyi's face disappeared instantly.

Her husband Cooper has been dead for many years, but the identity of ** is still unknown. She had tried to investigate, but had not found any leads. When *** asked about this, she just shook her head gloomily and didn't say a word.

Seeing this scene, **'s face also sank, because Gu Bai was his old comrade-in-arms, and the two had a deep relationship. After Cooper died, he wrote an inscription to express his condolences: "My friend Cooper, handsome and hardworking, sacrificed his life for the country, it is really sad." ”

Such a heroic figure, no matter what, can't let him die in vain. Therefore, ** immediately ordered a thorough investigation of the entire process of Cooper's sacrifice and the arrest of all those involved.

After receiving the task, the public security department immediately took action and set up a special task force to conduct on-the-spot investigation in Longchuan County, Guangdong Province, where Gu Bai died.

Despite the passage of 20 years and the bumpy road of investigation, our task force is still undaunted by hardships, finding many eyes that have witnessed history and reading a large number of local records.

After a year of hard work, the truth of the incident was finally revealed. On April 1, 1957, we submitted a detailed report to ***, in which Comrade Cooper's life experience was clearly investigated......In 1906, Gu Bai was born in Xunwu, Jiangxi, and when he was young, he was influenced by progressive ideas and hated the oppressive old society.

When he was 16 years old, when he was studying at Guangyi Middle School in Meizhou, Guangdong, he actively participated in patriotism, and became a well-known patriotic student representative in the school.

During those turbulent years, Cooper focused on his studies and actively organized his classmates to participate in demonstrations, contributing an indispensable force to the promotion of communism in Guangdong.

However, this behavior of his touched a nerve with the authorities, and in 1924 he was forced to leave school. But this did not extinguish Cooper's enthusiasm for the revolutionary movement. Together with progressive students, he founded a "Student Mutual Aid Society" and later founded a "Xueyi Middle School" of his own.

In May 1925, the May Day Movement broke out in Shanghai. Numerous workers and students were outraged by the atrocities of Beiyang ** and Japanese **, and they took to the streets and staged mass demonstrations.

When he learned of this, Cooper responded without hesitation and personally organized the ** action in Meizhou. In the process, he met Zeng Biyi, who later became his life partner.

Zeng Biyi was born in a scholarly family in Nanxiong, Guangdong, and received a good education since childhood. She played an important role in the May Day Movement in 1925, and she and Cooper were like-minded and similar in personality, and the two soon fell in love.

Although they have been separated many times because of their work schedule, neither time nor distance can shake their relationship. However, in 1928, Chiang Kai-shek's ** wave swept the country, and Zeng Biyi, who was far away in Nanxiong, Guangdong, was also unfortunately affected.

Zeng Biyi, accompanied by her brother, set foot on the land of Jiangxi to find the ancient cypress tree. Although the two have been separated for a year, their hearts are tightly connected, as if they have never been separated.

In 1929, under the auspices of her elder brother, Zeng Biyi and Gu Bai tied the knot, and their love and revolutionary spirit were spread locally. In 1930, Gu Bai was already the secretary of the Xunwu County Party Committee of the Communist Party of China, and Zeng Biyi also became the leader of women's work.

At this time, the Red Fourth Army led by Zhu Mao arrived in Xunwu, Zeng Biyi and Gu Bai saw for the first time that they had admired for a long time, after hearing about the deeds of Gu and Zeng, ** was deeply moved, he happened to be in the local social investigation, so he asked Gu Bai to serve as his secretary to assist in the activities.

During the investigation of the search for Wu, Gu Bai and *** traveled to every corner, while studying the terrain and understanding the customs. Every word he said during this period was recorded in detail by Cooper.

At the same time, Zeng Biyi also played an important role in this expedition, due to the language barrier between the Wuwu people and ***, she became the personal translator of ***. With the joint assistance of the two, the investigation of ** went smoothly, and the "Investigation Report on the Search for Wu" was quickly sorted out by Cooper.

Therefore, ** often mentions modestly: "Thanks to their guidance, I am very happy to have a little understanding of urban business like a student".

Cooper performed so well that it was quickly reused.

In July 1930, he was appointed secretary general of the former committee of the Red Fourth Army and has been working with *** ever since. After returning to the ** Soviet area in 1931, Cooper successively served as the secretary general of the General Front Committee of the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army and the commander of the 11th Army.

In the first four anti-"encirclement and suppression" battles, Cooper led the team to implement the guerrilla warfare theory, successfully repelled many attacks by the first class, and also helped the Red Army complete the victory against "encirclement and suppression".

However, in the fifth anti-"encirclement and suppression" in 1934, the Red Army was finally defeated because Wang Ming, Bogu and others abandoned the guerrilla warfare tactics.

Despite this, Cooper was a staunch supporter, so after the handover of command of the Red Army, he was also removed from the post of army commander. However, he did not give up, but decided to hold the **Soviet zone and continue the guerrilla war with the enemy.

In the end, after the start of the Long March in October 1934, he became the commander of the Red Army guerrilla column in the Fujian, Guangdong, and Jiangxi border areas.

In order to protect the safety of the Red Army and his family, under the persecution of Chiang Kai-shek's three-way army, Gu Bai led his team to fight in the southern Jiangxi region. Despite the uncertain situation of the revolution, he relied on his flexible use of troops and tenacious perseverance to lead the guerrilla squads to defeat the enemy with fewer victories on many occasions.

However, under the pressure of hundreds of thousands of troops, his partisan column could not achieve a decisive advantage. In 1935, when he heard that there was a strong guerrilla force in the Longchuan area of Guangdong, he managed to get in touch and rushed there despite the enemy's encirclement.

In order to avoid exposure, Gu Bai and the Longchuan guerrillas made an appointment to meet at the Mandarin Duck Pit. However, on the appointed day, Cooper did not wait for the guerrillas, but a large number of well-armed Kuomintang guards appeared.

Faced with the onslaught of enemy troops, Cooper immediately realized that his identity had been revealed. So, he immediately decided to let the team retreat immediately, and he was in charge of covering.

After a fierce battle, most of the guerrillas managed to break through, but Cooper was unfortunately shot several times and died on the spot. Due to the poor transmission of information at that time, it was not until 1937 that ** and Zeng Biyi knew that Cooper had died.

For this reason, ** special inscription to show nostalgia, Zeng Biyi is even more heartbroken. However, Cooper's sacrifice is still puzzling because he was trying to hide his identity, and if he had not been betrayed, the Kuomintang would not have been able to find out about him.

During the special period of the outbreak of the all-out Anti-Japanese War, ** was unable to take time to investigate the truth of Cooper's death due to the heavy war, and this incident was shelved for nearly two decades. However, in 1956, Zeng Biyi met *** by chance at a meeting, so there was the scene we mentioned at the beginning.

In the face of ***, Zeng Biyi said frankly that the child he gave up for adoption had been recovered, but the ** who killed Gu Bai had not been found. So *** personally ordered that the Ministry of Public Security immediately take action to investigate the truth about Gu Bai's sacrifice.

Under the work of the public security department day and night, the truth of Cooper's death was finally revealed. The truth was revealed, and ** was sentenced. All this has to start from the beginning of Gu Bai's arrival in Longchuan.

At that time, he had already made contact with Liu Guozhou, the leader of the Longchuan guerrillas, but the Longchuan guerrillas were scattered in various places, so they decided to meet in the Yuanyang Keng area on a later date.

While walking nearby, Cooper and two of his teammates spotted a paper mill called Chimi She, about a mile or two away from the Mandarin Duck Pit. At that time, the paper mill had only three masters, including a man in his 30s.

When the man saw Cooper and the others, he looked a little panicked. Seeing that he also came from a poor family, Cooper told him that if he joined the Red Army, he could get rid of the oppression of the landlords.

The man was very excited after hearing this, and he claimed to be a native of Longchuan, named Wang Yinghu. Due to poverty, he had to work in a paper mill, but the salary was so low that even supporting his family became a problem.

Gu Bai felt that Wang Yinghu was very sincere, so he let down his guard, talked frankly with him about the affairs of the Red Army, and warmly invited him to join.

However, what Gu Bai didn't expect was that Wang Yinghu he met was not a good person. The next day, Wang Yinghu reported the matter to the local landlord Wang Fujun and found the director Wang Jingqing.

After learning of the situation, Huang Jucheng, the captain of the Longchuan Shangping Squad, and Huang Zhuo, the deputy captain of the Longchuan County Guard, planned the arrest of Gu Bai. However, Cooper knew nothing about it and was in a great predicament.

Moreover, he trusted Wang Yinghu too much and inadvertently revealed the date of his meeting with the Longchuan guerrillas, so the local Kuomintang minions raided them on the day they met.

In the end, Cooper was shot and killed in order to protect his teammates. After the truth was revealed, ** issued an order again, demanding that the persons involved in the case be sentenced in accordance with the law. On June 1, 1958, the Longchuan County People's Court sentenced Huang Jucheng, Huang Zhuo, and Wang Fujun, the main culprits in the murder of Gu Bai and another comrade-in-arms surnamed Liao, to death with immediate execution and deprivation of political rights for life.

After the court's verdict was served, Zeng Biyi burst into tears. She misses her husband's voice and smile, which has been imprinted in her heart all these years. She understood the dedication of the revolution, and she had no complaints about Cooper's sacrifice.

However, she has always been concerned about her husband's unexplained death. However, what she didn't expect was that this incident shocked *** After the truth of the matter was revealed, she was deeply grateful to the party and *** for their care.

So, she took the initiative to ask Ying, took over her husband's career, and continued to serve the people. In the following decades, she worked silently in important positions such as the National Red Cross Society, the Museum of the Chinese Revolution, and the ** Organization Department.

Until March 20, 1997, the last moment of her life, she was still struggling at work.
