India's new civil aviation regulations Passengers must be able to retrieve their luggage within 30 minutes

According to the Times of India 18**, India's Civil Aviation Safety Authority (BCAS) recently issued new regulations requiring the country's major airlines to ensure that passengers can get their luggage within 30 minutes of the plane landing.

According to the report, long waiting times for luggage, damaged and lost luggage have become long-standing problems at Indian airports. Many Indians have complained that sometimes they have to wait more than an hour to get their luggage, which is exacerbated by overcrowding in the terminal and slow baggage processing. In addition, unclear signage at the airport and a lack of staff have made it even more confusing for passengers to pick up their luggage. These issues not only affect the passenger travel experience, but also damage the reputation of Indian airlines and airports.

According to BCAS requirements, seven airlines, including Air India, must comply with the new rules, that is, within 10 minutes of landing, the first checked bag should appear on the baggage carousel, and the last bag should be delivered within 30 minutes. It is said that BCAS began to check the delivery time of luggage at major airports in January this year, but so far none of them have reached the standard of "within 30 minutes". (Wang Ce).
