Islam advocates charity, promotes charity, and encourages charity. Charity is the perfect embodiment of the Muslim faith. It is both contained in the five basic obligations and covers all of them, which is a combination of faith and action, and a demonstration of faith and character of Muslims.

Meaning of charity: Charity includes "compassion" and "goodness", "mercy" means mercy, belongs to one of Allah's 99 honorific names, and is an attribute of Allah. Muslims recite "Tesmi" (in the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Merciful) in everything they do, and the purpose is also to subtly cultivate a benevolent character, develop the habit of kindness, and be merciful at all times and everywhere.

Allah has sent the Holy to love the worlds, as Allah has said: "I have sent you to love the worlds." "The object of mercy appointed by the Scriptures is not limited to Muslims, but refers to all and all vulnerable groups in general. Regardless of nationality or skin, all of them live in the favor of love, which is the social ideal advocated by Islam. It is also the goal that Islam obliges Muslims to practice in order to achieve, and in this sense, Islamic charity involves all beings in the universe and is a kind of fraternity based on faith.

The teachings of charity are also abundant in the hadith, where the Prophet said: "Love is true faith." "He who is not loving does not receive the mercy of the Lord." You have not believed until you are merciful. The Prophet's guidance then began to extend outward. He said, "It is not the Muslims who are full of his neighbors but hungry."

Those who can be kind to flesh and bone are said to be good; Those who can be kind and teach are said to be good; Those who can be kind to foreign teachers are called public goodness, and those who can be kind to animals, insects, plants and trees are said to be universally good"。Ma Note: "Halal Guide".

Giving alms is an important practice for Muslims, it is an important obligation of Allah to Muslims, and its purpose is to use the money in their hands reasonably to benefit themselves and others, so a reasonable way of giving alms can maximize the value and social benefits of faith.

The Qur'an says: "Worship Allah, do not associate anything with Him, honor your mother, treat your relatives well, have mercy on the orphans, give relief to the poor, love your neighbors and your companions, entertain travelers, entertain slaves. Indeed, Allah does not like arrogance and boasting. 】4:36)

As can be seen from the previous verse, Islam divides charity and acts of kindness into levels, and then ranks them in order according to the hierarchy of love, after believing in Allah, which is a series of good deeds.

Islam also prescribes the right way to give alms, and much needs to be paid in order to gain the pleasure of Allah without harming the recipient, and to be reverent and free of selfish thoughts to do the work perfectly and receive a perfect reward.

OneDon't sell your reputationAllah said: O you who have faith! Do not show favor to the recipient and harm him so that your alms become invalid, just as those who give alms for the sake of fame do not believe in Allah and the Hereafter, like a smooth stone with a layer of floating earth on it, and after a heavy rain it makes it hard and slippery and they cannot receive the reward of their alms, and Allah does not guide the unbelieving people" (2:264).

And he said: "Among them are those who give money to fame and fame, and they do not believe in Allah or in the last day, and whoever takes the devil as his companion is really bad (4:38) From these two passages** we can see that whoever does good and shows others has a great problem with his faith, and the hidden value is more valuable than famous, and Allah says: "If you give alms openly, it is good; It would be better for you if you gave to the poor in secret, and that would remove some of your sins, and Allah is aware of your deeds] (2:271).

Islam allows Muslims to give alms openly without generating negative energy in order to set an example and lead, and encourages secret charity to please Allah and avoid grandstanding.

It was narrated that Al Hulayl narrated that the Prophet Muhammad said: In the last day when there is no shade, seven kinds of people will be blessed with shade. One of them, they give silently, even when they give with their right hand and their left hand does not know. For this reason, the sages rolled alms in the clothes of those who needed them, placed them in his path, or stuffed them into the cracks of his doors, because the benefits of silent alms were greater and closer to reverence. This kind of almsgiving completely eliminates the suspicion of fame and fame, and also makes the dignity of the recipient better protected, which is the noble character of our predecessors, and we should learn from them.

IIDon't donate things you don't loveThe Qur'an says: "It is not justice for you to turn your face to the East or to the West, but justice is faith in Allah, faith in the Last Day, faith in the Immortals, faith in the Scriptures, faith in the Prophet, and giving your beloved possessions to relatives, orphans, poor people, travelers, and beggars (2:177), on the contrary, taking bad things or throwing things away from you is not only useless, but also causes people to resent him, and Allah does not like it, nor does he receive any reward for the Qur'an: [O those who believe! Give away what you have received and what We have produced for you from the ground, and do not give to you what is inferior except with your eyes closed, which you do not want to receive, but know that Allah is the One who does not ask for anything and is praiseworthy" (2:265).

3. Regardless of the reward, the true giver does not seek the pleasure of the Lord in return from others, nor does he reciprocate with courtesy, the Qur'an: "The one who fears Allah is free from the Fire, he gives his money with sincerity, he has not received any kindness in return, but his charity is only to seek the pleasure of Allah, and he himself will be pleased in the future" (93:1721).

And he said, "Whatever good you give is for your own benefit, and you can only give for the pleasure of Allah, and whatever good you give will be perfectly rewarded, and you will not be wronged" (2:272).

FourthDo not bring shame upon othersSome people who give a little will say something unpleasant to embarrass and disgrace the recipient, or let the recipient confess his favor, which is not permissible for Allah, the Qur'an: "Spend your own money in the cause of Allah, and after giving alms do not show favor to the recipient or harm them, and those who enjoy their reward with their Lord, and they will have no fear or sorrow in the future" (2:261) and "Rather than harm the recipient after giving alms, it is better to politely decline and forgive him troubles Allah is self-sufficient, is the most tolerant] (2:262).

This is because the benefits of silent charity are greater and closer to reverence. This kind of charity completely eliminates the suspicion of fame and fame, and also better protects the dignity of the recipient.

Allah requires Muslims to worship Allah, to be righteous and to uphold moderation. For thousands of years, we Muslims have followed the commands of Allah, worked actively and were willing to give alms. It not only helped many people in distress and need, but also nurtured and formed the generosity of Muslims. A good social custom of perseverance and poverty alleviation.
