Glass flake anticorrosive paint is a kind of heavy anticorrosive coating made of special resin as the base material and glass flakes. It has strong shielding and is mainly used in ships, ports, railway bridges, petroleum, chemical smelting, iron and steel facilities, pipelines, sewage treatment plants and other places to prevent the erosion of corrosive media such as atmosphere, seawater, acid, alkali, oil, salt, and chemical gas. The following are the detailed steps and precautions for the construction of glass flake anticorrosive paint:

1.Surface treatment: Before painting, the dust, oil, welding slag, etc. on the surface of the object need to be cleaned. For the surface of the steel, sandblasting and rust removal should be carried out to achieve SA2Grade 5 or ST3 with power tools and manual rust removal. Make sure that the surface is free of rust stains, oil stains, water stains and other debris.

2.Primer application: Choose a primer that matches the final coating and apply it evenly. The function of the primer is to enhance the adhesion between the coating and the substrate, and play a certain role in anti-corrosion.

3.Glass flake cement construction: Component A and component B are proportioned according to the manufacturer's requirements. During construction, keep the angle between the spatula and the base layer, push and wipe along the sharp and acute angles of the spatula, and try to squeeze out the air between the cement and the base layer. Generally, 2 coats are painted.

4.Topcoat construction: The topcoat is directly resistant to the corrosion layer, so the resin content should be high, and there is no need to add powder, and the appropriate amount of thinner should be added. Ensure that the coating is uniform and there is no sagging.

5.Curing: After the construction of glass flake cement is completed, it can be dried or self-dried. Self-drying needs to be cured for 7 days before it can be delivered for production.

6.Construction environment: The temperature of the construction environment should be between -5 and 45, and the air humidity should be controlled below 85%. In temperatures below 10 °C, the curing reaction slows down, so it is necessary to extend the application interval appropriately.

7.Safety protection: During the construction process, the construction personnel need to take personal protective measures, such as wearing masks and gloves, to prevent the irritation and corrosion of the paint.

In short, in order to ensure the construction quality and effect of glass flake anticorrosive paint, it is necessary to pay attention to the above links and strictly control the construction process and environmental conditions.
