Climb the mountain

The lines are no better than people, and they can be cleaned by falling rain and snow twice, and bad weather makes them more delicate. In winter, it is no longer the season suitable for climbing. Especially after the snowfall, the steep slopes are littered with rocks, and the ice that has not yet melted is covered with a layer of snow, so even experienced hikers have to be extra careful.
For this mountain, Zhang Shuan is more experienced than travelers. The altitude of Maha Mountain is more than 800 meters, and the No. 30 iron tower on the top of the mountain is the first tower in Jinan, and it is also the highest tower in Jinan City. Since the beginning of winter this year, the ground wire on the top of the mountain has been covered with ice many times, and they have to climb the mountain every time they check and clear the ice.
Today is no exception. The low temperature for several days has caused ice to appear on the ground wire of the No. 28 to No. 30 tower section on the mountain, and Zhang Xuan and his entourage need to take the drone to clear the ice on the mountain. A drone weighing more than 100 pounds can fly from the foot of the mountain to the take-off point, but a 20-pound drone battery cannot. Once the drone clears the ice, it is common to prepare three or five batteries, and Zhang Shuan and several people need to carry weight up the mountain.

Although it seems that our uphill equipment is more than Zhangshuan: a pair of hiking shoes for each person, and the bag is simply put in the car and travels lightly. Zhang Xuan pointed to a clearing on the mountainside, which did not seem to be too far from the foot of the mountain.
However, we clearly underestimated how steep the mountain is. The slopes of the mountain that had just fallen after the snow were as white as a wash, and we left footprints only after we walked by, as if the silence of the whole mountain had been broken. The mountains were empty, and the snow seemed to be falling so hard that half of my feet were submerged in the snow when I stepped into the snow. The most important thing is the mountain rock. Under the cover of snow, the large and small rocks on the road are uneven, and you don't know the depth when you step down, and you can stumble if you are not careful.
It's steep in front and there's ice underneath, be careful. De-icing
The drone and Zhang went to the platform on the mountainside together, which is their usual tool for patrolling and de-icing.
It's a huge drone. The arm span is one meter wide and the load is almost a hundred kilograms. Underneath the drone, there is an orange-yellow insulated wire, which is designed to prevent electrical conduction during the snow clearing process. Underneath the insulated wire is the "sharp weapon" for snow removal - an iron rod more than half a meter long and thirty or forty pounds. "UAV + insulating rod" de-icing and mechanical vibration de-icing devices, which complete live de-icing by hitting the icing wire, are the common ways of de-icing in Shandong Electric Power at present.
When he was ready, Zhang Bolt picked up the drone controller. "Ice clearing is different from patrolling and requires two people to work together. Gou Jianlei, the squad leader, said that the large drone that Zhang Xuan was responsible for was mainly de-iced through the insulated rope and iron rod below. Gou Jianlei said that at this time, small UAVs have become a "partner" for de-icing. The drone took off slowly with a roar, and the huge wind made the snow flakes on the snow. In a short time, the two machines flew to the icing line 100 meters away. Seeing that we were amazed by the process of clearing the ice, Gou Jianlei said slowly, "The icing will make the conductor heavy, and if the ice and snow accumulate on the road, it will cause pressure on the line under the action of gravity and cause damage." "In 2008, the ice and snow disaster in China caused huge losses. Therefore, the removal of ice cover from the line has always been one of the key points in power operation and maintenance work. 
The de-icing of this route is also very meaningful. Gou Jianlei said that it is responsible for the power supply task of the 220 thousand volt Zouping traction station of the Jinan-Qingdao high-speed railway. In other words, if there is a problem with this line, Zouping Station will face a power outage. Now for the Spring Festival, the train may be suspended. Only after the line is overhauled and the power supply is restored, the high-speed rail station will have electricity. Behind a line, it will affect the tens of thousands of people who return to their hometowns on the Jinan-Qingdao high-speed railway.

Technical work
It took more than half an hour to go up the mountain, but the de-icing process was short. The drone hit it twice, and the ice and snow on the line were almost cleared.
This wasn't the case before. Gou Jianlei recalled that drone de-icing was only applied at the end of last year, and DC ice melting vehicles were used before. "The principle is that the ice melts by heating the iced lines. "However, once this method is adopted, there is a power outage. "We have power outages depending on the level of icing, but if it stops for a few days, won't it be delayed? ”
Zhang Shuan still remembers that the first time Jinan used a drone to de-ice, he operated it himself. Zhang Shuan, who has been engaged in circuit inspection for 6 years, is used to using drones, but this is the first time he has heard of de-icing. "At the end of last year, there was a heavy snowfall, and the ice was more serious, and at that time, for the first time, iron rods and drones were combined to test ice knocking. The drone's "strength" is limited, and the effect is okay, but the process is long, "the small plane needs to be knocked a little bit, and it is frozen several times." Despite this, the first drone de-icing also opened the door to a new world of Zhang Shuan, and it turned out that his usual "old buddy" still had so many functions. 
There are many extreme weather in this winter, and Jinan, which rarely has ice in the past, has appeared many times. And Zhang Xuan's "old buddy" also helped him a lot. In order to make the efficiency of de-icing faster, this time they also introduced larger drone equipment, with a maximum take-off weight of 95kg, in addition to its own weight, it can carry an object of nearly 100 catties, and the strength is also greater.
This type of aircraft is officially applied in Jinan for the first time, and the de-icing effect is very good. Zhang Xuan said, "You see just now, the de-icing and snow removal of the ground wire, after two operations, the snow cover on the wire has basically been cleared." He made a comparison: it takes a day or half a day or a half for a small drone to remove the snow cover on a single wire, while a large drone can handle it all in about two times. "It doesn't affect the normal operation of the power supply, and it can be quickly de-iced. ”
And this method has also become the norm for Shandong to clean up the ice on the line.

It's almost the New Year, and Zhang Shuan is also homesick.
Speaking of home, Zhang Xuan, who talks endlessly about professional knowledge, is a little embarrassed. Zhang Xuan, from his hometown Zaozhuang, came to Jinan to work alone, and he was very worried about his two-year-old child. He always felt that after each route, it was closer to meet the children. Zhang Shuo plans to return home in Chinese New Year's Eve, after inspecting these lines and clearing these ice. Soon, it's almost there.
Gou Jianlei has more affection for this icy line. He looked at the ground wire that had just completed the de-icing operation of the drone, and they were responsible for the power supply of the 220 thousand volt Zouping traction station of the Jinan-Qingdao high-speed railway. Below the power line is a steep mountain, and inside the mountain that cannot be seen, is a speeding Jinan-Qingdao high-speed railway. The Jinan-Qingdao high-speed railway connects from Jinan to Qingdao, and also connects his hometown Zibo. The line he protects also carries his concern for home. 
According to public reports, since its opening in 2018, the Jinan-Qingdao high-speed railway has been running 66 times a day5 pairs of trains, meeting the railway travel needs of nearly 10,000 people. And during the current Spring Festival travel period, the mountains and towers will witness more people returning home.
