Xingshu sprouted in the Western Han Dynasty, developed in the Eastern Han Dynasty, and matured in the Jin Dynasty.
The calligraphy that reflects the formation of the calligraphy can be seen from the fragments of the Western Jin Dynasty (265-317), such as "The Five Years of Taishi", "The Fragments of the Villain Dong Ben", "Li Bai Documents" and so on.
Xingshu and regular script were formed almost at the same time. The so-called "Desheng small change regular script, called Xingcao" in Lu Shen's "Book Collection" in the Ming Dynasty only illustrates the influence or penetration of regular script on the development of Xingshu. In the process of the development of calligraphy, it is inevitable to be influenced by other scripts, especially regular script and cursive script. Therefore, some people think that the common line script is developed on the basis of regular script and borrowed from the brushwork of Imakusa, and there is some truth in it.
After the maturity of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, under the influence of Wang Xizhi, a large number of calligraphers under the vein of Wang Xizhi appeared. Sun Guoting of the Tang Dynasty said in the "Book Pedigree": "When it is timely, it is important to practice books." "Many calligraphers throughout the ages are known for their calligraphy. Over the past thousands of years, the integration of calligraphy has continued to develop, with diverse styles and genres.
Cursive script appeared during the period of evolution from seal script to official script. The sloppy and simple writing of the regular seal script and official script is the reason for the emergence and development of the cursive script. The development of cursive script into a relatively independent style of writing was in the Han Dynasty, and its prototype was Zhangcao. Later, under the influence of the regular script and line script in daily circulation, the wave pick was gradually canceled, and the grass was formed with a longitudinal trend, more free and convenient writing, and continuous strokes.
Compared with Zhangcao, the continuity between the strokes is greatly enhanced, and we can draw the answer by comparing Lu Ji's "Pingfu Post" and Wang Xizhi's "First Moon Post".
Sun Guoting said in his "Book Pedigree": "Grass takes dot painting as its temperament, and it turns into form. Liu Xizai of the Qing Dynasty also said in his "Art Overview: Calligraphy" also said: "Orthographic calligraphy is more than meaning, and cursive writing is more meaning than law." "Compared with other book genres, cursive script has a strong lyricism and is better at exerting the author's emotions and interests.
