On February 2, in the men's event of the skeleton World Cup in Latvia, Chinese player Yin Zheng skated the fastest time of 50.24 seconds in the first round and won the championship with a total time of 1:40.82 in the two rounds. This is Yin Zheng's first World Cup podium and the first World Cup gold medal in Milan's skeleton event.

In 2015, Yin Zheng was admitted to Beijing Sport University with his sprinting expertise. In 2017, the General Administration is carrying out cross-discipline selection activities, because the start of sprinting and skeleton is somewhat similar, both need to break out and sprint short distances, so Yin Zheng, a sprint student, has undergone a number of tests by the coaching staff and has been successfully selected for his outstanding individual ability.

Starting carts have always been Yin Zheng's strong point, and at the Beijing Winter Olympics, Yin Zheng set a new starting record for the National Bobsleigh Center track in Yanqing Division. He finished fifth with a time of 4:12.13, and although he unfortunately did not stand on the podium, fifth place was good enough for Yin Zheng, who was participating in the Winter Olympics for the first time.

In the skeleton competition of the 14th National Winter Games, Yin Zheng fought hard to catch up in the unfavorable situation of fourth place in the first round, and finally only won 071 seconds behind Yan Wengang and won a silver medal.

Switching to the skeleton World Cup, Yin Zheng still continued his strong performance. In the first round, he skated the fastest time of 50.24 seconds and won the gold medal with a total time of 1:40.82 in the two rounds. This is Yin Zheng's first time standing on the podium of the World Cup and winning the World Cup for the first time. The other two Chinese players, Chen Wenhao and Yan Wengang, finished sixth and 19th, respectively.
