Rape, the main oil crop in the south, introduction of rapeseed planting methods
Rapeseed is the main oil crop and an important cash crop in the southern region. In order to obtain high yields and high quality rapeseed, the right planting method is particularly important. Here are some ways to grow canola:
1) Seed selection: Choose rapeseed varieties suitable for local climatic conditions, such as medium-ripening varieties or early-maturing varieties, and each variety has corresponding supporting cultivation techniques in different regions.
2) Soil selection: Oilseed rape is suitable for growing in well-drained soils rich in organic matter. Before ploughing the land, deep ploughing should be carried out, and basal fertilizer should be applied, such as rapeseed special slow-release compound fertilizer, 40-50 kg of basal fertilizer should be applied per mu, and attention should be paid to the cleaning and drainage of ditches.
3) Sowing: Choose the right sowing time according to the climatic conditions and rape varieties in different regions. It is generally sown in early to mid-September, with mid-late varieties sown in early September and medium-ripening varieties sown in mid-September.
4) Seedling rearing: If the method of transplanting seedlings is adopted, it should be carried out in a small area where fertilization, watering, and pest control are easy to manage.
5) Transplanting: The transplanting season depends on the variety planted and the weather conditions, usually at the beginning of the day or at the end of October.
6) Fertilization: rape requires a large amount of fertilizer, especially nitrogen fertilizer, which should be applied in stages, before the first flowering period, and no top dressing is required later. At the same time, in the bud extraction of rapeseed to the full flowering stage, combined with pest control, foliar spraying of high-quality foliar fertilizer to promote flowering and podding and improve resistance.
7) Watering: The critical period when rape is sensitive to humidity is the flowering period, when it grows vigorously and consumes a lot of water. Soil moisture should be maintained at 10-15% at the time of sowing. Insufficient water after budding can lead to yellowing, defoliation, and reduced yield.
8.Pruning: During the growth process, the old yellow leaves should be removed in time to prevent excessive nutrient consumption, and at the same time promote ventilation and light transmission to improve yield.
9) Harvesting: Rapeseed should be harvested as soon as possible after maturity, dried and stored in time.
The cultivation method of rapeseed is the same as above. In the planting process, attention should be paid to scientific fertilization and pest control to ensure the yield and quality of rapeseed.
