From BYD to million dollar luxury cars, new energy is invading small counties

In the past, the concept of new energy vehicles was that the uncles and uncles in the village drove out to buy vegetables every day, some were small electric luxury cars, and some were even modified from electric three-wheeled hard-top carports, and the steering wheel inside was even a motorcycle handle.

Nowadays, there are already three or four regular green cars in small villages, and the new energy vehicles in the county, although they are not as visible everywhere as in first-tier cities such as Guangzhou, but even in the case of pure power grid car-hailing, the frequency of private green cars is also very high.

I posted this idea to the automotive editorial group, and found that other editors who returned to third- and fourth-tier cities also had similar feelings.

As the leaders of the domestic new energy vehicle market, BYD and Tesla have become the two car brands with the highest frequency in the home of all auto editors with a large enough market share.

When visiting relatives on the second day of the Lunar New Year, Tesla's Model 3 and Model Y, BYD's Song Plus DM-i and Qin Plus DM-i are especially common on the road. It is worth mentioning that my uncle will drive an old BYD Qin DM back to his hometown every year, and this car has become a landmark every time I visit my uncle's house.

It just so happened that there was a Yue A brand AION S parked in the village. After communicating with the car owner, I learned that he is an online car-hailing driver, and he does not have to worry about the "four stops, four stops, four traffic restrictions" policy in Guangzhou with a Guangdong A license plate.

It turned out that those new energy vehicles with green license plates from other places were just a livelihood tool for the villagers, and before the end of the Spring Festival holiday, they continued to take on the responsibility of supporting their families.

Following the release of models of BYD, Tesla, Aion and other brands, the auto editors' desire to win has come up, and they have shown off other new energy brand models they have seen in their hometowns in the group.

There are two main reasons to support their choice of new energy vehicles: one is that the quality of new energy vehicles has reached the level that should meet their first range, and the other is that charging stations and other related energy replenishment facilities are also closely followed.

In rural areas, the penetration rate of new energy vehicles has increased significantly from 4% to 17%.

However, it is difficult for non-first- and second-tier cities and rural areas to achieve an average level of 30% penetration of renewable energy.

After communicating with many new energy vehicle owners, it was found that the reason for their first choice of new energy vehicles is to save more fuel money, on this basis, charging pile facilities are the confidence for them to choose new energy vehicles, and those who finally chose Japanese family car owners, many of them have considered new energy vehicles, but there are no good charging facilities.

Of course, a large number of car owners have never considered new energy vehicles, and they all talk about the value retention rate of fuel vehicles. It is undeniable that many friends' first car is just a springboard, and they can sell the car at a better price when changing cars.

It can only be said that the development of new energy vehicles still has a long way to go, but as far as the current situation is concerned, the old man has faded out of the market, which is already a good start.

This year, many new energy vehicle companies have announced annual sales targets, among which BYD Group has increased its sales target by 1.5 million units; Geely Group also has a target of more than 800,000 new energy vehicles; Chery Group launched the Fengyun Sequence to strongly develop the plug-in hybrid family car market; Changan and Aion both challenged the target ...... of 800,000 new energy vehicles

These domestic auto groups all have sub-brands with different positioning, but the entry-level family car market is a battleground for them, rather than first- and second-tier cities and rural areas, which is the group's new sales target to increase sales volume.

In 2024, in order to achieve the goal, new energy brands will inevitably strongly promote the development process of the auto market, which may change the pattern of the auto market in non-first- and second-tier urban areas.
