From February 18th to 19th, there was a continuous low temperature rain and snow weather in many places in our province, in order to ensure the road traffic safety of the highway in the jurisdiction, the Meihekou Branch of the Highway Public Security Bureau of the Provincial Public Security Department acted quickly to study and judge the impact of low temperature rain and snow weather on the road traffic safety in the jurisdiction in advance, and jointly prepared for the bad weather of low temperature rain and snow in conjunction with the relevant departments of road administration and maintenance.
On the night of February 18, there was rain on the highway in the jurisdiction. The leadership team of the Meihekou Branch and the leaders of the Meihe Branch of Jigao Group sit in the command center of the sub-bureau, pay close attention to the weather changes and road conditions in the jurisdiction, unify command, dispatch and action, concentrate on dealing with rain and snow, and work together to protect the road traffic safety of the highway in the jurisdiction.
During the snowfall on the night of the 18th, the Meihekou Branch dispatched multiple groups of patrol police to patrol the highways under its jurisdiction at all times and pay close attention to the road conditions. According to the snowfall situation and temperature, the Meihekou Branch actively linked with the maintenance department and began to sprinkle snow melting agent on each snowfall section in advance. Police forces are stationed in key areas such as bridges, culverts, and interchanges to keep an eye on them, and strictly prevent and control them. With the close cooperation of the police of the patrol group of the sub-bureau and the maintenance department, the first round of snowmelt and anti-skid operations were successfully completed before 0:00 on the night of the 18th.
At about 4 o'clock in the morning on February 19, the snowfall in the jurisdiction increased sharply, and the roads were covered with snow and there was no black road. In order to further consolidate the effect of snow melting, the patrol teams of the Meihekou Branch worked closely with the maintenance department to quickly carry out the second round of snow melting and anti-skid operations, and make every effort to do a good job in snow clearing and smoothing. At the same time, each patrol group will register and inspect key vehicles such as hazardous chemical transport vehicles stranded in the service area, carry out real-time road condition notification services, and require hazardous chemical transport vehicles to leave the service area only after the road traffic control is lifted.
Police tips: When traveling in ice and snow weather, pay attention to "speed reduction, distance control, and bright tail" to ensure driving safety. When driving on the highway and encountering an emergency, you should keep in mind the "nine-character formula": pull over, evacuate, and call the police.
