KUALA LUMPUR, Jan. 29 (Xinhua) -- In order to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia, the opening ceremony of the "Malaysia-China Friendship Night" and the 2024 Malaysia Chinese Youth Art Festival was held at the General Assembly Building of the Chinese Assembly Hall in Malaysia on the evening of January 28.
With the theme of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the festival deepens the friendship between the young people of the two countries and their understanding of the two cultures through various forms such as theatrical performances, visits and social art practices. During the event, outstanding youth art groups from China and Malaysia performed on the same stage to showcase the arts and cultures of both sides.
At the opening ceremony, the youth art teams of the two countries brought wonderful performances such as chorus, dance, and drama, which won bursts of applause and cheers from more than 1,000 audiences.
Speaking at the event, Azman Abidin, Political Secretary to the Prime Minister of Malaysia, said that Malaysia-China relations are booming, and the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries is a historic milestone. People-to-people exchanges are a vital part of bilateral relations, and it is hoped that the young people of the two countries will continue to enhance friendship and mutual understanding.
The event was co-hosted by the Malaysia-China Friendship Association and China International Culture Group***. The closing ceremony will be held on February 1 in Malacca, Malaysia.
Majid, President of Malaysia-China Friendship Association, Loh Cheng Quan, President of Malaysian Chinese Chamber of Commerce, and Zheng Xiuquan, Deputy General Manager of China International Culture Group, attended the opening ceremony.
