Supermicro is expanding its portfolio of AI solutions to enable customers to leverage the power of AI at the edge, whether in public spaces, retail stores, or industrial infrastructure. The use of Supermicro Application Optimized Servers with NVIDIA GPUs makes it easier to fine-tune pre-trained models and deploy AI inference solutions at the edge of data-generating solutions to reduce response times and improve decision-making.

"Supermicro has the broadest portfolio of edge AI solutions to support customers with pre-trained models for edge environments," said Jianhou Liang, President and CEO of Supermicro. Supermicro Hyper-E servers are powered by two fifth-generation Intel Xeon processors and support for up to three H100 Tensor Core GPUs to deliver unmatched performance for AI at the edge. With up to 8TB of memory, these servers bring AI processing performance from the data center to the edge.

With server upgrades, users no longer need to send data back to the cloud for processing, and then intercept the information back to the edge if it is not necessary. At the same time, customers can now use pre-trained and performance-optimized large language models (LLMs) and use them at their edge locations with NVIDIA AI Enterprise for instantaneous, accurate decision-making close to the data generation end.

Kevin Connors, vice president of partner alliances at NVIDIA, said that more and more companies from healthcare, retail, manufacturing, and automotive are interested in using AI at the edge. Supermicro's new NVIDIA-Certified systems are powered by the NVIDIA AI platform, providing the highest-performance accelerated computing infrastructure and enabling edge AI workloads with NVIDIA AI Enterprise software.

Jacque Istok, CEO of StoreGenius, an expert in smart applications for the retail industry, said that Eviden's AI retail solutions are based on Supermicro edge systems and NVIDIA technologies that will revolutionize the way people navigate and interact in spaces such as stores. With 3D models of stores and interactive chatbots that convey the right information, the solution improves the shopping experience by providing customers with an interactive and personalized shopping model. The combination of realistic facial animations, advanced voice recognition, and 3D modeling makes virtual shopping almost as real as being in a physical store.
