Mao Xin is a contemporary freelance painter.

Born in Neijiang, Sichuan, the hometown of Chinese painting and calligraphy at the end of the 60s, he likes to paint since he was a child, and likes to use his brushes to express his imagination of poetry and a beautiful and free life in the distance.

He studied Chinese language and literature at Neijiang Normal University.

From 1990 to 2000, he taught at Sichuan Oil and Gas Field Construction Technical School in China, and read a large number of Chinese and foreign literature, philosophy and art books during his teaching period. Because of the pursuit of a free soul, he resolutely resigned from public office and became a freelance painter.
