What is the difference between MAH and MWH

mAh (milliampere-hours) and MWH (megawatt-hours) are two units of measurement of electrical energy, and they are used in different scenarios and purposes:

mAh (milliampere-hour).

mAh is a common unit of battery capacity and indicates the battery's ability to store energy.

1mAh indicates the battery's ability to operate for 1 hour while providing 1 milliampere.

This unit is usually used for the battery of small electronic devices, such as mobile phones, laptops, e-cigarettes, etc., to describe the continuous use of the battery.

MWh (megawatt hours).

MWH is a unit of measurement of large-scale energy production or consumption and is commonly used in the power industry.

1MWh is equal to 1,000,000 watts of energy produced by 1 hour of continuous operation.

This unit is typically used for larger-scale energy metering such as power production from power plants, energy consumption at cities or large facilities, etc.

While both MAH and MWH are units of electrical energy, their range of applications and magnitude vary widely. If conversion is required, the factor of voltage must be taken into account, because electrical energy (watt-hours, wh) = current (amps, a) voltage (volts, v) time (hours, h). Since Mah and MWh are units of current and electrical energy, respectively, direct conversion is carried out by means of a specific voltage value.

For example, to convert the capacity of a mobile phone battery from mAh to Wh, you need to know the voltage of the battery. Let's assume that the capacity of the battery is 3000mAh (i.e. 3ah) and the voltage is 37V, then the energy of the battery is:
