"Green Book" is the highest-rated Oscar-winning film in the last decade, but don't be intimidated by the title, this is not a sci-fi movie about green. It's actually a story about two men who make a difficult trip. One is a famous black pianist, and the other is a white driver. They lived in the '60s, when racial discrimination in the United States was rampant.
The two protagonists, the white driver named Tony, are old fritters in a mixed society, and have done a lot of work from entertaining to driving garbage trucks. But his family is very traditional, with generations living together and enjoying themselves like big Chinese families. But one day, his *** closed his door for renovation, lost his job, and urgently needed to find a new way to make a living.
It just so happened that a friend introduced him to apply for a driver with a ** doctor. As a result, the ** doctor is not simple, he is a black classical pianist named Don. Don was highly educated and had unique tastes, but in the United States at the time, he was never treated as an equal. So, he needed a driver, and Tony came into being.
Both knew in their hearts that their trip to the South was fraught with danger and discrimination. Tang is a ** family and lives the life of a rich man, while Tony is a low-level worker. The class gap between them is not a joke, just like Tony asked Don to try KFC, and Don couldn't eat seriously because he didn't have a knife or fork, and the two ended up making a lot of jokes.
However, the real crisis came after they entered the southern states. The racism there is no joke. They suffered injustices, such as Don being forced to live in a dirty motel and even being forced to urinate in a kennel-like place. Because of all kinds of discrimination, Tang gave up the high performance fee without hesitation, left the South, and fought against white discrimination with self-respect.
There is no war movie in the whole movie, nor does it have the sensationalism of a romance movie. It shows the story of two men from different walks of life, one for money and the other for self-esteem, influencing each other along the way, learning from each other, and finally realizing their self-worth. Although Tony looks down on black people in his heart, he is willing to make sacrifices for his family. And Don, despite his privileged life since childhood, has the courage and self-esteem to stand up to the world.
This film is not only a moving work, but also a thought-provoking work. It teaches us that racial discrimination is an ugly act and that harmony and progress can only be achieved through mutual understanding and respect. How did you feel after watching this movie? What is your view on the issue of racial discrimination? Let's work together to warm the world!
