It should be said that in the past 2023, the domestic new energy vehicle market will have a bumper harvest. According to the 2023 national automobile sales data released by the China Automobile Association, the cumulative sales volume for the whole year is 300940,000 units, up 12% y/y and a record high.
In the new energy vehicle market, the production and sales volume also exceeded 9 million units, with a market share of more than 30%, ranking first in the world.
Of these, the output was 95870,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 358%。Sales volume 94950,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 379%。
Comparing the year-on-year growth rate of new energy vehicles and the entire car market, it is actually clear that the year-on-year growth rate of new energy vehicles is far ahead of the entire world.
Writing this, it suddenly made me think of a question: since the growth rate of new energy vehicles is so rapid, when will fuel vehicles stop selling? Can the schedule for stopping the sale of fuel vehicles announced by major car companies be implemented as scheduled?
Because just a few years ago, when new energy vehicles were just developed, major car companies set the time for the sale of fuel vehicles in order to express their determination to develop new energy vehicles. After checking the information, the most radical among these car companies are Volvo and Jaguar Land Rover.
Volvo announced that it will stop production and sales of conventional fuel vehicles in 2019, and Jaguar Land Rover said that it will electrify all its products in 2020.
It's 2024 now, and there are not a few fuel vehicles on sale in the domestic market, including Volvo XC60, Volvo XC90, Volvo S60, Volvo S90, etc. Of course, you may say that Volvo's current fuel vehicles are equipped with 48V mild hybrid systems, which are not considered fuel vehicles?
If you have to think so, then I won't raise the bar with you. In my opinion, at the very least, plug-in hybrid models are considered non-traditional fuel vehicles in the true sense.
Looking at Jaguar Land Rover, all the models sold by Jaguar so far are standard traditional fuel vehicles, and they are not even equipped with 48V mild hybrid systems, let alone plug-in hybrids and pure electric vehicles. Relatively speaking, Land Rover is better, although there are many fuel vehicles on sale, but at least there are many plug-in hybrid models such as Range Rover Evoque, Discovery Sport, Land Rover Defender and Range Rover Sport, but there are no pure electric vehicles.
As for traditional car companies such as Volkswagen, Toyota, and General Motors, it is actually difficult to stop producing traditional fuel vehicles according to the previously announced time node.
Toyota Chairman Akio Toyoda has even publicly stated recently that Toyota is launching a new project to re-promote the development of internal combustion engines. Because in his opinion, the engine is what NIO needs.
At the same time, Porsche executives also recently said that Europe's plan to gradually stop selling fuel vehicles in 2035 may be postponed.
I have to say that the suspension of the sale of fuel vehicles from the beginning is actually a beautiful lie.
